My husband & I have owned homes & inspected As far as home inspections go, this was one of the worst we've experiencedHe first didn't do his due diligence on researching the county records and having a feel for the propertyHe didn't even know after being here for at least an hour that the house was on a septic systemSecond, he didn't open the washing machine, or else he would have saw that the lady who had moved out months ago left a load of clothes in itThe washer was also absurdly unlevel, which in the report he said that it was operable but how do you know if you haven't even looked inside itThird, he failed to mention that skylights that should open didn'tFourth, he said that the furnace probably had an electric static filter, but he obviously didn't open it since it had a very old filter that was disgustingly dirty & that type of filter will cost us $every monthsFifth, he said that he tested the oven & it worked however, it only works at & degressAnything in between & the element does not turn onSixth, he emphatically stated that there was no drain in the laundry room, but if he had simply moved the washer instead of trying to peer under it without even a flashlight he would have seen that there is a drain thereOverall, this inspection was not worthless, but definitely deficient in it's quality & thoroughnessDo your research before hiring an inspectorMake sure they are professional and take the time to do a thorough job for your own best interests
