Review: On August [redacted], I rented a van with a hand truck from this location for a move from Washington Heights to Queens. I drove just over 20 miles; with hand truck rental, the fee for the van, and the insurance, the total correct cost should have been about $84.When I returned the van, the employee present at the garage took the keys and removed the hand truck from the van. I requested a receipt, but was informed that he "didn't work for U-Haul," and told that, as long as I remembered to return the van with the same amount of gas as I drove away with (which I did), there would be no surcharges. On the morning of September [redacted], I received two receipts from U-haul: one for the correct amount, and a second that charged me almost $80 for a missing hand truck. I called the phone number on the receipt and was told, after the guy rummaged around and realized that he did have all of his hand trucks, that the additional charge would be refunded. Okay, fine. Then I check my bank account and realize that, instead of $84 or even $160, I have been charged for a total of over $340 - a $99 hold for taking out the van, then two charges for the van, one for the correct amount and a second for the inflated amount. When I called the business back, I was informed by the same guy that all incorrect charges would be refunded to me, refusing to discuss that someone had authorized two charges on my account for the same van rental, and that the bank would have processed the refund in 3-5 business days.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the full overcharge and the initial hold.

Response:
I made the complaint on September [redacted], so it has been 3 days.

Response:
Customer was made aware that we would refund the charges for the missing equipment that we weren't aware that she gave to the parking attendant she began yelling and screaming I apologized for the mix up and explained to her the process for the refund . unfortunately for the customer she rented on Saturday and equipment was returned on Sunday it would take 3 to 5 business days (bank regulations).Furthermore that Monday was a holiday she called that Monday insisting I refund her the money I explained to her that its a holiday today and I asked her to check back she never did.
