[redacted] Hard Copy Attached [redacted]
Dear Mr. [redacted]
The Suddath Companies
This response is tendered on behalf of Suddath Relocation Systems of Minnesota, LLC ("Suddath) in response to the Revdex.com complaint XXXXXXXX.
Ms. [redacted]...
claims that while in Suddath's storage her valuables went missing, which had an estimated value of $100,000. She claims that Suddath stole her property, and she is requesting that Suddath either reimburses her the full value of the property or return the property. Despite Ms. [redacted]'s allegations, Suddath has attempted to rectify the situation; however, Ms. [redacted] not allow the settlement of this claim.
The Eden Prairie Police Department conducted an investigation of this matter and found no criminal grounds on which Suddath [redacted] be guilty of wrongdoing. The case number is XXXXXXXX. Additionally, Ms. [redacted] signed a Warehouse Receipt & Storage Contract on March 21, 2014 with a Declared Value of Property provision that states Suddath's liability for damages shall be limited to $.60 per pound, per article. The declaration of value is coverage for direct physical loss or damage to the property.
Contrary to Ms. [redacted]'s allegations, Suddath sent Ms. [redacted] a copy of the settlement offer on March 14, 2015. The settlement offer outlined the items missing with a description and value. As stated in the settlement offer, based on a conversation between Ms. [redacted] and [redacted] a customer care claims adjuster at Suddath, the check for the amount owed to Ms. [redacted] was not sent out because she wanted to seek legal advice first.
Suddath stands by the prior offer made to Ms. [redacted]. The offer presented to Ms. [redacted] is in accordance with the Warehouse Receipt & Storage Contract.
Suddath hopes that this response is helpful to the Revdex.com when investigating this claim. Should you find that you need additional information from Suddath to process this response, please let me know.
Respectfully,
[redacted] Legal Administrative Assistant [redacted]@suddath.com

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Suddath Relocation continues to send the same photocopied letter. When I hired them I was promised my goods would be moved, stored and delivered in the shape that they left my Minneapolis residence. They stole items, clearly can't be approved, but that does not make the outcome any different. I would like to be reimbursed my original moving costs, storage, and moved items into my new location. The amount is $4,382.77. Suddath has hundreds and hundreds of complaints against them and their business operations. Suddath and [redacted] are clearly at fault with their promise and contract... I look forward to hearing from you soon.. thank you, [redacted]... [redacted]

Review: On 5/16/14 I ordered a ceiling fan and a lighting fixture from the above named business. When I ordered them, the sales person ([redacted]) did not mention that the items would be considered a special order. I was told only that they were not in stock and would have to be ordered. The fan is exactly as represented in the catalog. The lighting fixture and the picture in the catalog do not match at all. When ordering I told [redacted] that I needed a fixture with yellow, burgundy, green and blue which were represented inthe picture. However the fixture I received was more gray and did not match the catalog picture. Upon opening the box and finding the fixture was not what I thought I was ordering, I called the store and was told that there would be a restocking fee of 25%. On June 4, I went to the store to point out the discrepancies and was told I could not return the item at all. The sales person said that the fixture needed light in order to look like the catalog picture. She tried to provide light, but it still was not even a close match. Then she tried to tell me that the fixtures were "handmade" and therefore it was hard to get the stain glass in the fixture to match the catalog picture. Of course I was not told when ordering the fixture that it might not look like the one in the catalog. If that is the case, then there is the question of misrepresentation of the product. The business took the item back but charged me $48.15 for restocking.Desired Settlement: I want the $48.15 restocking fee returned to me. In the future, I think that customers should be told up front before ordering that they cannot return special orders and items returned have a 25% restocking fee. The clerk told me that that information was on my sales slip that I received upon receiving the products.

Response:
I am sorry Ms. [redacted] feels she had a bad experience at our store. Our policy on special order items are non returnable. This is stated on the sales order the customer receives, as well as, posted in our store. Our store posting also states Special orders are non returnable. Because the customer was unhappy, we took the item back but charged a restocking fee because we have to pay the vendor a restock fee.
I will contact her and give her a refund on the restock charges because we strive to maintain good standing in the community.
Thank you,
Consumer
