I recommend Wilderness Roofing to anyone with a 1 1/2 story heritage home in Saskatoon that needs roof work.
Gayle D
I had my roof done in 2018 and other projects since then and have been completely satisfied with the work projects Wilderness Roofing as completed. I found them to be professional, good to deal with, and competent. I have nothing negative to say about this company.
Why work was done without a call to me first ,and why was it not included in the main bill
Why am I not allowed to receive the suppliers invoice?
November of 2019 Wilderness Roofing quoted $3200.00 to shingle my house.
The work was done and I paid the bill.
At that time I asked for the suppliers invoice, that would give information on the type of shingle used so I could send that to *** claim.
The claim was approved, but will only settle if they know the type of product used.
I was promised that it would be emailed within a week.
I called Wilderness Roofing after two weeks to ask again for the invoice.
Instead I was surprised by a bill for an additional $638.00.
My argument with this was that this work was not discussed with me first, but I paid the bill , trusting that the invoice would be sent!
My wife tried to contact Wilderness as well, but he kept saying the invoice was forth coming.
To this day I have not received any feedback from Wilderness Roofing.
I would like the invoice saying the kind of shingles were used by Wilderness to send to *** claim . Also cut the cost of the added work of 638.00. That is a considerable amount to charge over and above the quote of 3200.00
I called Wilderness roofing on the recommendation of a friend to have insulation blown into the attic. I was surprised that I was able to have the job done the same day as I called. The fellows came in did the job in 40 minutes and left the place clean and dust-free. I was most please with the courtesy shown.
I booked Wilderness Roofing based on feedback from a friend on work they did for their neighbourhood. I met Jeff Charlebois on Wednesday August 21 for a quote, he said said if I put down a 50% deposit he would have the materials there by Friday August 23 and work would start soon after. Materials showed up as promised. When work had not started as of Wednesday September 4 (2 weeks after we met Jeff), I called Jeff and a reply came to text him, so I did. I asked for an update on installation, he said they will start the next day or Friday, and they were delayed due to bad weather. They showed up this time, they did the job, and they were done on Monday September 9th. However, they left 12 bundles of shingles on my roof, they only replaced 1 of the sheets of plywood that were seriously damaged from before the work started, not all 3 that should have been replaced on the front of the house, there is no proper drip edge installed, and I am not entirely sure that there was a shingle starter strip used. The plywood is also exposed under the first row of shingles, which means the rotten plywood will continue to get worse, and the one sheet will follow suit.
I contacted Jeff on the following Saturday to inform him that I was not happy with what was done, to ask if they were finished because there was still a stack of shingles sitting on my roof, and to ask why the balance of the contract had been charged to my credit card without any confirmation of work being completed or authorization to do so from either myself or my wife. He texted saying he was out of town, then called to say he would get the shingles off the roof on Monday, that he didn't have my email address to send a final invoice (still haven't received that after promptly providing my email address to him via text), and I told him I would send him pictures of the rotten plywood that had not been replaced. I haven't heard from Jeff since then, but one of his guys called me an hour later on Saturday to say he would pick up the shingles on Monday. I sent him pictures of the exposed damaged plywood as well, and no response there either.
Wilderness Roofing is the third company I have used in 7 years, but the first one in Saskatoon. I will never again use this company, and I would never suggest to anyone to use them. Communication with them is nearly impossible, charging for work prior to authorization is unethical, and I remain unhappy with the work they did.
Business failed to provide invoice for completed work and instead processed a fee significantly higher than quoted on my credit card without my agreem
I contacted wilderness roofing to reshingle my cabin and was quoted 8462$ for the job. I entered into this contract and provided my credit card number to authorize a deposit of 4500$ to begin the work on July 22, 2019. The work was completed but the roofers took my extension ladder when they left. I tried to contact the owner, ***, by text but received no response from him. I also requested an invoice for the remainder of the work and he never did reply. I noticed there was a charge of 5284$ on my credit card statement on August 22 which I did not know was being charged to my credit card. In fact the co owner of the cabin was to be responsible for the remainder of the cost and would have paid directly.
I contacted *** the owner of this company to register my concern about this practice and did not receive a reply.
In addition the amount was significantly higher than quoted and there was no explanation of the additional costs (1300$).
I would like the business to refund the payment on my credit card of 5284$, issue an invoice for the remaining amount with an explanation of the additional costs and subtracting an amount of $300 for my extension ladder which was taken by the company after completing the work.
Started the job on Wed, now Sunday and only half the house is done
If you want someone to continually lie to you this would be the company to go to
Current inspection of the roof shows a several inch gap between the end of the roof shingles and the eavestroughs, for half of the west side of roof.
New roof and eavestroughs installed in October 2015. Current inspection of the roof shows a several inch gap between the end of the roof shingles and the eavestroughs, for half of the west side of roof. The gap allows access to the attic space for water and animals/birds.
I would like the roof shingles/eavestroughs intersection to be repaired so that there is no gap allowing access to the attic space.
I have had the same go around with Jeff Charlebois as many other disgruntled customers. I paid Mr. Charlebois over 10 thousand dollars up front (on my Visa) on an SGI claim and they still haven't completed the work over a year later. They re-roofed my house, but never finished eavestroughs nor did they re-roof my garden shed as per SGI estimate. The work needs to be completed and I need a receipt from Wilderness Roofing. I have contacted Mr. Charlebois numerous times over the past year and he has promised to rectify the matter and over a year later it still isn't rectified! And then I found out that the contractor is supposed to do the work and then be re-imbursed from SGI? He lied to me and stole my money! No wonder Wilderness Roofing is not listed with Revdex.com.
They neglect to return calls regarding unfinished work, issuing a receipt for work which has been paid for and issuing refund for unfinished work.
I hired them to do repairs relating to an insurance claim for hail damage. They refused to quote and just wanted *** bid sheet and said they'd do the work for that price. They took payment on credit card for over half of the amount prior to beginning work and took the remainder of the payment prior to completing the job. He indicated he would have a receipt issued promptly once the work was complete. After the last credit card charge was put through we checked the work and noticed that the eavestroughing, vents and screen door hadn't been replaced but we were charged for all work. I had told him when we met that I did not require the screen door to be replaced and it should be removed from the dollar amount quoted. They also had replaced a natural gas cover in the wrong spot so that we couldn't operate the valve for the natural gas for our bbq. I contacted him to advise of the work that was not done or was done incorrectly. He said he'd have to check and would get back to me. He also advised that I should email him so he'd have my email address to send the receipt to. He did not return my call and I called him back a few days later and he indicated that he had someone come and do the eavestroughing and repair the natural gas cover. We had already repaired the natural gas cover. The eavestroughing has been replaced. The vents and screen door have not been replaced and I asked that he remove those from the invoice, refund the money to our credit card and send us a receipt so that we can submit it to *** He said to send him an email - which I did on October 4th, he said he'd get back to me on October 9th. I have not had any response from him, I left another message October 11th. The charges to our credit card were made on Sept 15th & 27th.
I want the refund put on our credit card ASAP and a detailed invoice for us to submit to ***.
One star review does not reflect the workers we had for total exterior. The guys were great and did a good job, with only one issue with the siding, which had to be called back for. The one star review is for Jeff Charlebois who gives zero customer support and follow up. He gets your business and then you never see him again. After several non-answered messages, he tells you they will be there the next day, and no one shows. Message again and gets the siding guy to phone me (Can't even deal with it himself). Find out he had lied to me about guys coming, because they didn't even know about it. Would never recommend or use again because of Mr. Charlebois alone. I would use the guys again, if they worked for someone else.
Refuses to supply *** transaction receipt.
Final payment for work done was charged on *** July 23rd, 2018. Requests for transaction receipt were made to *** on July 25th and July 26th, 2018. Did not receive responses.
Require a transaction receipt for *** payment.
