This business advertises that it takes insurance yet when you try and engage with them they say they don't have the staff to deal with the authorization process. if they aren't going to take insurance they should not advertise that they do.
Modification/discontinuance of They should explicitly explain what their policy is regarding insurance. It is very difficult raising a child on the autism spectrum we don't need the healthcare providers causing more stress to our lives.
We wish we could help this family however the authorization process for this families specific policy is extremely time consuming and we do not have the ability to complete it in a timely fashion. We do not feel it is fair to say that we can do something when we know we do not have the time to complete it. This is a process that must be completed every six months and we already have several families that we serve that have this type of policy with ***. We do take *** insurance however there are many different types of policies that have different authorization processes. We decided about a month ago that we were going to hold off taking these types of policies from *** until our Clinicians had more availability. We have an appointment next week to update our website and will change the language to clarify our current policy. I was completely upfront with this family when I took their information, that we were currently only taking limited *** policies and that I would check with their insurance company to see what policy they had and let them know if we could help. Again we are very sorry that we can not help at this time.
To make a blanket statement that you take an insurance is misleading. First you change the advertising, then you change the policy, not the other way around. You were upfront with us. The problem is that we are desperate and didn't want to risk finally finding help for our son by giving you honest feedback up front. This entire segment of health care is turning parents into beggers.
I am very sorry and I understand that the insurance system is broken. We did not mean to make this any harder for you. I agree that we need to update our website and we are working on this. I wish we had more control over the insurance piece and the whole system could be easier for provider and member. We are very sorry that you we are not able to help at this time and will change the website to indicate that at this time we can only take select *** policies.
