On Dec 19, 2014 I called Whittlesea taxi for a ride form my motel to another motel. I had 1 suitcase and 2 small boxes with me. A Large angry taxi cab driver showed up and said "we don't do move jobs" I explained that this was just a few small boxes and not a move job. He gave me a dirty look. At this point I said, "goodbye" and called another taxi as I was concerned over his demeanor and attitude.Desired SettlementI want Whittlesea management to instruct their drivers on politeness and business etiquette. Having that angry man show up for my ride was offensive and a negative experience. Business Response I spoke to [redacted] but he did not know the cab number of the driver for whom he wanted to make the complaint about. We cannot be sure it was a Whittlesea Taxi at this point. Our drivers are not permitted to help customers move their homes, as it is a liability all the way around for us. We do teach our drivers to be courteous, if in fact this was a Whittlesea Taxi and we knew the cab number we would let our driver know to be polite when refusing to move a customer's residences. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The driver was Whittlesea I promise. Denying responsibility is unacceptable. Do not make me the liar. Final Business Response Whittlesea Checker Taxi has 80+ taxis on the street at any given time. Without a cab number I cannot educate the driver on his/her customer service skills. I will instruct our drivers to maintain a good attitude and demeanor while driving for the company.
the driver went out of his way to try and hit my kids in our parking lot while I am standing out there and waved at me like it was nothing. They hung up on me when I called them, twice. I do not feel this is the way the drivers should behave. I will be filing a police report.Desired SettlementThey should lose there license.Business Response Our driver did not go out of his way to hit any children. It is Mrs. [redacted]'s opinion he was driving too fast, we gave our driver a shift off, and counseled him on safe driving. Mrs. [redacted] was hung up on after using excessive profanity with our dispatch office. I have spoken to Mrs. [redacted]'s husband and resolved the issue.
