I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference
to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We did not accept Whitten's response We chose to take our vehicle to another dealer who successfully resolved our problem on their first attempt unlike Whitten who could not fix the problem after two tries We felt we would have more recourse and more qualified mechanics by taking our car to the dealer but we did not find that to be the case with Whitten If the public only knew what they're getting from Whitten, they would not go back - we won't! We will not be patronizing Whitten Brother's in the future and we will not recommend them

I spoke with [redacted] from the company and he stated that they do guarantee their work and the consumer is more than welcomed to bring the car back into the shop for them to look at what is going on.
Review: I own a [redacted] 5-speed. In July 2013, I noticed when I pushed the clutch in, it made a noise. I took it to Whitten and the mechanic came out, drove the car, and told me it was the clutch pilot bearing. To make that repair the mechanic said he would have to take the transmission out of the car to replace that part. The mechanic suggested putting a complete clutch kit in the car since he was already going to have the transmission out. I agreed with this plan. The mechanic put the clutch kit in and I paid him $917.96 for labor and parts. I drove the car for 4,500 miles. I started having problems with the clutch again in February 2014. I took the car back to Whitten and he told me he needed to adjust the clutch, change the fluid in the transmission, and service the clutch fluid. I was charged $206 for that. On April 6th, we drove the car to my mother's home. On the way to her home, we smelled something burning. When we got ready to leave, the problem with the clutch came back - it went completely out. I'm concerned about what Whitten will want to do this time to fix the problem and I have concerns about whether a clutch was actually put in at all.Desired Settlement: I'd like for Whitten to make the necessary repairs and replace any defective parts to fix the clutch problem. I will take the car back to them a third time but I don't want to be jerked around and I don't want to have to spend any additional money on repairs I think they should have done correctly the first time. I came to the dealer and spent more money than if I had taken it to a local garage because I thought I would get an honest opinion and quality work by a [redacted] certified mechanic.
