I scheduled White Gloves Moving for my apartment to house move. This was confirmed two days prior by Roxanne. The 2 movers arrived, came into our apartment, walked around, then stated 'we will go turn the truck around and start.' During the 5 minute Tues that they were in our apartment, they were noting that we only had furniture-'no electronics'. Why does that matter? Forty five minutes later, we were still waiting. More than half a dozen phone calls went unanswered, I finally reached out to the email that I booked under. In the meantime, my husband drove to the listed address for the business ess, only to arrive at an apartment complex with no business anywhere. He then reached out via phone, reached Roxanne, and was told she would look into this situation and call him back. Another 30 minutes- still no phone call. She then responded to my email, stating 'one of the movers had a bad asthma attack and is in the hospital. He didn't want to tell you. We have no other crew available.' Just shy of 2.5 hours after our scheduled start time and we received our first form of communication as to what was going on. I'm sorry if this 'medical emergency'was legitimate but the lack of communication is inexcusable, the avoidance of calls unacceptable and the clear casing of our home unethical. We are also contacting our local police department to look into this.
The resolution that I would like to see is $150, which is what I had to pay a different mover just in emergency rates after White Gloves Moving breached their contract. In order to have my items moved, it cost me an additional $300 than I had planned. Attached is the contracted quote that I was provided. It took 2.5 hours of attempting to track them down to find out that they weren't returning.
Revdex.com previously spoke to business which stated that the employee did have an emergency. Business did not provide explanation as to why business failed to communicate with customer or documentation of employee emergency.
