*** *** moved into our apartment community on August 1, 2013. At that time the rental rate was $for that particular apartment that she leased. As an employee of Purdue University, she was given a 5%
discount on her rent. This was a participation that our company ran with Purdue University at that time. With *** discount, she was given a $discount, which made her rental rate $for her month lease
In December our management company went to a “rate management” system. This software “generates” rents every day, according to many factors. Due to this new system, the discounts are no longer given for new leases or at renewal time
When *** lease was set to expire, the renewal rates were generated and her rate was raised to $720. A renewal letter was sent to her on or around May 15, making her aware that her rate would be $for a twelve month lease
*** contacted us and asked about her renewal rate and if that included her 5% Purdue discount. It was explained about the rate management system and that the 5% discount was no longer part of our leasing program. She was not happy about no longer getting the discount but was made aware that her new rate would be $beginning August 1, and that if she wished to vacate the premises that a written day notice must be received prior to moving out
On June 18, 2014, *** signed her renewal lease at the $monthly rate
