Planet Fitness billed me in advance for a year after I had signed up online and never came in, and had called them to request they cancel my account. I was told they would cancel the monthly payments they take out of my account, but I had to come in in person in order to cancel the yearly payments, and they don't refund you no matter what. I explained that I had hurt my back and was unable to come in and they told me I should send a certified letter (which would entail my going to the post office!). They kept taking the monthly payments anyway. This practice is unfair and should be stopped.Desired SettlementI would like the money I have paid so far refunded and would like to make sure they know I have lodged this complaint. On their website I see many, many complaints of this sort. They take advantage of seniors and others who innocently give them their bank account numbers.
