I received a telemarketing phone call in Tucson from Western States Homes Services this morning. I have been on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY since 2012 (verified after the call).
This company engages in ILLEGAL PRACTICES and is unethical as they are required by law to validate all telemarketing calls are are not on the National Do Not Call Registry - they obviously are ignoring the law.
I am on the do not call list and received a telemarketing call today 9/2/15. I see from prior review this has happened before. They blamed it on the company they buy their lists from, but they are response for compliance with the law as well as the seller of the list.
In about October of 2015, I received a phone call from Western States offering to check our air conditioners/heaters at a cost of $35 per unit, but the best part was that all proceeds went to the Susan G. Komen Foundation! Seemed like a great idea, and I agreed. The young lady on the phone was very kind, but the technician did not show up at the agreed-upon time. We re-scheduled.
The second technician did arrive as expected, but spent 3 hours "checking" - in fact, I had to leave on an errand, so he left the "repair estimate" on our front porch - $3800 because all our ducts were leaking, terrible, etc.
Immediately after his visit, one of our heating units began to work very erratically and then stopped working altogether.
Last week, we called another company to check it. No mention of bad ducts, but the problem was that the Western States technician had turned off a switch (the gas?) and left it off. Just a small oversight, but made for some uncomfortable evenings on one end of our house.
I was unwilling to ask Western States to come deal with the problem, since I was uncomfortable with the length of time the technician lingered in our house, with the questionable estimate for repairs, and of course with the outcome. Very glad we called the other company.
