Not a good way to start out .. As well I grew up in a logging family for generation's and we don't charge high prices fees in times of disasters we help one another out.
It would be nice if other's wouldn't prey upon other's during times of disasters. Now I am not saying that this is what this company is doing but they started out with a misrepresentation of what they are to be doing when it's not a accurate statement in the letter left in the mailboxes.
Just a friendly word of advice always put your best foot forward in life in all dealings.
We just had a wonderful experience with Westcoast Tree Care! We live with a greenbelt of tall trees to the south that keep us in the dark all winter, and encroach on our driveway. Our experience started when Westcoast arborist Jim M surveyed the property with us, and he provided great insights and ideas of what we could do to increase light and enhance our view. We agreed on a plan, with a schedule service date and price.
The crew showed up right on time on the day scheduled, and crew chief Blake M went over the plan with us again before his crew went to work. They were here for a full day, and we can't believe the difference it has made! It's like living in a new place! We have sun in the house, and we can see into the greenbelt forest next door for the first time in 18 years! Blake and the team did everything promised and a couple other things we asked for, and when they left, it was cleaner than when they arrived. We are so happy with the results!
Thanks to Blake, Jim and the whole team.
We live in a forested area and needed tall fir trees to be windsailed and smaller maples cut down. Blake and his team arrived on time and their work ethic is commendable. Communication before and during the job was excellent and we were very impressed.
Thank you for taking the time to send a nice positive message! We greatly appreciate it! Thank you for your business ??
Jim, Blake and the entire Westcoast Tree Care Team.
Received this via email 1/21/2020: "I prefer to make site visits with both parties present. This often helps from things getting lost in translation and multiple site visits. I can make something work on Wednesday after school. 3ish."
Arborist came on Tuesday, after confirmation for Wednesday. Received the following email on Tuesday: "I was close to your property this morning (Tuesday) so I stopped to preview your trees. I met your husband. After showing him some extremely obvious and hazardous issues with your Oak trees. I have decided that I am going to respectfully decline performing any services. I have to be honest with customers and your husband did not want to listen to my findings."
I was NOT present, even though he wanted BOTH of us there (see above email request)...my husband said at some point of the property tour, the arborist simply walked off with no explanation.
Disappointing...
Also, after reading other BB reviews, it is dismaying to see that the company is defensive and abusive to customers who do not leave glowing reviews...a true measure of professionalism.
The email I sent is true and accurate. We often will preview a potential project in order to save time. Such is the case here. The potential customer was returning home at 3pm. It’s light until roughly 4:45. Not giving much time to view the multiple large Oak trees with adequate light. When I entered the property. I went directly to the door to identify myself. The individual the answered (husband) came out and walked around with me for a few minutes. I quickly decided this was not an individual we would want to work for. The negative review is based Solely on me withdrawing our FREE evaluation. We have the right to refuse service to anyone. I appreciate the Revdex.com informing us and the opportunity to respond.
Got a mailer from WCT in the mail. Called, left a message. Guy called me back and was all pissed off because I didn't leave my city info. Left my address and zip code on my voice mail message. Very rude, and hung up on me. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DESERVE A Revdex.com APPROVAL!
We promptly return all calls. As you can see by this persons language... she was the one that was nasty on the phone. Left incomplete information and was sarcastic and rude when asked the city she lived in. We have the right to refuse services to anyone. Seemed appropriate to simply end the call.
Thank you
My elderly mother had West Coast Tree Care come and work on several fir and cedar trees last September. Originally my mother was raving about how kind and sincere she was with his proposal. Then once they were done and my mother had questions about his work was complete and why he did the things he did, the representative from the company became very abusive towards her leaving her very upset over the entire transaction. From reviewing the charges with other companies, she may have been overcharged for the work.
I would have no idea as to whom this potential client is. No name given. Odd that someone would complain 9 months after the project was completed.
Mr. M, and West Coast Tree Care are to be commended on an incredible job and value for our sensitive tree removal issues. I am not often impressed and am a stickler for professionalism, efficiency, promptness and cleanliness - Mr. M. and his crew delivered on all fronts.
We had a number of trees that needed removal and to complicate the matter they were hanging toward a sensitive NGPE (Natural Growth Protection Area).
Mr. M. adeptly walked out project and took time to patiently understand the request along with the sensitive boundary issues and clarified his understanding of what we were communicating very well. Once understood and verified, Mr. M. showed and described to us in great detail how they would manage the removal, sectioning maples in steps and allowing the separated segments to slide down a 'zip line' away from the NGPE and safely onto our property. We discussed schedule, timing and contract parameters and I can tell you the West Coast Tree Care team arrived to the minute, executed exactly what was described and within :7 minutes of the estimated time to complete...right down to equipment removal and site cleanup in keeping with our neighborhood guidelines. Incredibly efficient and professional, well worth the investment of time to find the right outfit.
We discussed a number of other trees on the site, some landscaping (Japanese Lace Leaf and Leyland Cypress hedge) and others Cedar. Mr. Mosher's knowledge of arbor care was impressive, and he courteously recommended against doing additional work for numerous tree and site health related reasons...when I can learn from a service provider and he passes up revenue in favor of the right thing for the site and the trees...that speaks volumes to me.
My gratitude and respect are duly delivered, thank you West Coast Tree Care.
Thank you for doing business with WCT! I will pass the positive comments to my crew.

I have been a customer of West Coast Tree Care since 1998. I live on an acre that is heavily wooded located in an urban setting next to a grade school. Before I hired this company, I dreaded the winter winds because I knew I’d be spending a lot of time in the yard dealing with downed limbs. I tried some individual “lumberjacks” who hacked limbs indiscriminately as well as some companies who claimed to be arborists and whose work wasn’t much better than that of the “lumberjacks.” When I was contacted by West Coast Tree Care, Jim M and I walked around the property and discussed what needed to be done, what it would cost and scheduled dates far in advance of the work. The costs have varied depending on the condition of the trees and the damage caused by winter weather. Because Jim keeps track of my property and we schedule periodic maintenance, I no longer dread the winter storms and have very little post-storm cleanup. On one occasion a couple of my pathway lights that lead from the street to my front door were damaged and Jim made sure the entire system was replaced. On another occasion when several large trees had to be removed, he put me in touch with people who hauled away the wood I didn’t need. Large trees can’t be ignored and it’s best to have them maintained routinely in a controlled manner rather than letting Mother Nature do it. I am very happy with the work that West Coast Tree Care has performed on my property for these past 20 years. Now that I’m approaching my 79th birthday, having them on my team is more important than ever.
It’s been a fast 20years! Thank you for all the business you’ve done with WestCoast Tree Care. Appreciate the positive review.

This company mailed us a flier and it offers "For the next two weeks only, you can have one of our Arborists survey your property's tall trees-FREE! (a 500$ value.)" . After filling out their online form with our request, I received an email repeat of the same question that was submitted online, in which I responded. After a couple of emailed correspondence with me attempting to make an appointment and a voicemail left by Jim M with a tone that clearly represented his lack of interest in following through, he emailed me and said "However, I’m going to pass on providing you with a walkthrough." I would not recommemnd this company to anyone.
