Review: Our driver was TWO HOURS late picking us up from the airport after we had been traveling for 17 hours. Driver continued to call us to say he would be another 10 minutes. When the two hours passed, he called to ask us which terminal we were waiting at (information I had filled out online when making the reservation). He told us the delay was because of traffic on the Van Wyck, so we asked him to take the Cross County. Five minutes later, he turns on to the Van Wyck and into traffic (side note: there was NO traffic going the opposite direction to JFK). We finally made it home and decided not to tip him since he did not provide a proper service. When we finally got in touch with someone at the car service two days later, they tried to tell us we're required to pay a tip and all these ridiculous (and illegal) taxes (such as sales tax on tolls). We were initially quoted $140 and said we would see $198 on our credit card. Needless to say, my CPA husband explained that most of what he was trying to charge was against the law and we would only pay a portion. We were told we would have to pay the entire bill including the illegal tax rates.Desired Settlement: If they attempt to charge us anything, we will not be paying. This company is not charging lawfully, so we don't feel comfortable making any sort of payment.

Response:
We have resolve this case with each party agreeing to the following term. The customer did not pay the full amount and only paid a portion (50% of the full amount) of it. The customer was more than satisfied with the amount they paid even though the company was not satisield. We acknowledge that the driver was late but not two hours late. The driver was forty minutes late, due to traffic, and the customers them self acknowledge that the driver was forty minutes late to the office and the driver. We acknowledge the frustrating the customer must have felt but that does not give them the right to insult the driver the whole ride home, making the driver feel uncomfortable and as well insulting the dispatcher. We have been in business for over 10 years and would not exist if we had illegal practices.
I was also once trapped in this sort of trouble. But my goodness I found www.yourdriverishere.com & I am totally satisfied with them. You may also try next time.
Review: I used the taxi service to travel between the Westchester Airport (HPA) and White Plains Metro-North station. I prepaid $26 for the vehicle. Two additional passengers were placed in the car to "share" the ride. They also paid $26. I told the driver that I paid for the car, not the seat and he needed to refund my money. He refused saying that he was only a driver and had no control over the situation.
This practice is clearly illegal and fraudulent as the car was paid for twice while only making one trip.Desired Settlement: Issue a check for $26 plus applicable taxes.
