On Jan 13, 2020 we signed a contract with Wellman Exterior to clean our condo gutters for at $180/building and $40/building to attach loose gutters. Eight(8) of our buildings gutter are less than 2 years old which should not require the $40 repair. Price gauging is what the new board members has realized after looking at past history. They came out to do the gutters in March but nobody saw them perform this 9 building process because they only sent us a invoice. This is very disappointing and we have had 2 homeowners that have complaint about debris in their gutter since late/early March/April. Unfortunately Wellman's only have a 30 day guarantee policy. HOW MANY LEAVES HAVE FALLEN SINCE MARCH 3, 2020. "NONE"
Ms. G,
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Our invoice clearly states a 30 day warranty on our service. There have been a number of heavy spring storms recently, and as such, we have to enforce our warranty period to ensure customers do not ask us to come back out to re-clean gutters that have accumulated new debris. We provided the property manager with a checklist of the buildings completed when the technicians were on site. We also offered to re-clean the gutter and only charge the service fee for having a technician come out.
I have used wellman over the years and recently used in new residence.
I wanted the gutters thoroughly cleaned to avoid problems and would gladly pay more to get the job done well.
When I called to ask the tech to come back and finish areas missed, they sent him back but only for one of the two areas. When I reached out again, they blew me off. No owner or anyone to talk to to handle. I was told several times that they "don't work in the office" and "they aren't available to talk to customers"
Yet someone calling themselves the "ceo" made harassing and nasty emails and insinuations that I was dishonest (but yet, I couldn't reach her or anyone else "in charge" on the phone; and I wasn't "allowed" to email her back, just someone else in the office) The way she treated me and painting me as dishonest- was disgusting and false.
The technicians were professional and the remaining 1-2 office staff, were fine, but they couldn't help me.
A local business of 5 or so with a "ceo" and "owner" that are not available.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $200.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
Update:
Wellman exteriors sent someone out to clean gutters today. They did not inform me, and I don't know how well they cleaned the gutters. I would still like to pursue the complaint. I do not wish to be reimbursed the $200 spent.
This customer had to be rescheduled multiple times because she would not take phone calls about her service. She did not inform the office that she had gutter guards when requesting the service which is an additional charge. We returned almost a month after her service to rectify her complaints. We have a 30 day warranty on gutter cleaning because leaves continue to fall throughout the year and it cannot be our responsibility to return every time there is new debris in the gutters. She was home when we returned and only pointed out two areas that needed to be cleaned. She had multiple trees very close to the home cut down AFTER we cleaned her gutters the second time that obviously were the cause of the minor debris buildup; this is not our responsibility to return and clean up. We offered to return and re-clean any new debris for a huge discount at $75 and she threatened to sue. She called the office and spoke with the General Manager but demanded to speak with someone else. The general manager informed her that our CEO was on maternity leave and the owner is obviously not involved in day to day operations and does not want to be contacted by customers. The GM was the highest authority available and she refused to accept that. She then called the office and lied to the secretary about her identity to gain access to our owner's personal information and began continuously sending him emails even after the CEO emailed her. She demanded that we send someone back to her home immediately and refund her money. The CEO emailed her as soon as she emailed the owner to try to rectify the situation and told her about our warranty policy, but offered to send someone out to verify in person that she was satisfied anyway. The CEO informed her that she was on maternity leave and asked that she allow the GM to handle the situation from there. We told her on 5/14/19 via email that we would have someone out the next morning to resolve the situation. Our technician called to tell her he was on his way and she hung up on him. This customer was never threatened or harassed, or accused of being a liar. For the record, we are also a nationwide company with 20+ employees around the country. We apologized profusely for the misunderstanding, and returned to her home multiple times to try to rectify the situation. We greatly appreciate all of our customers and never want to injure one of those relationships, but we will not be issuing a refund as we have not only done our job correctly, but bent over backwards to try to resolve her complaints, and if anyone has been harassed, it has been our employees by this woman.
John did an excellent job. There needs to be better communication about scheduling.
I've used Wellman Exteriors for gutter cleaning for a couple of years now. The scheduling is sometimes confused (I'm on a regular, recurring spring, fall, fall schedule, but they sometimes don't have that down), but the crews always do a great job. Today, Carl and Steven were quick and efficient cleaning out the gutters. They used the leaf blower to clean off the downed leaves from my deck. The place looks great. Thanks, guys! Recommend.
