Review: I signed up for the commercial intensive acting workshop in May, I had to cancel do to unexpected military training. I contacted the Weist-Barron Studio again to reschedule. They rescheduled me for July, well another unforeseen military event took place which required my mandatory attendance and then I was also hospitalized the majority of the month. I have asked for a refund back, I was told I was ineligible since I didn't get them enough notice. Then I was told they don't give out refunds and also they would give me a class credit for a year, well, I can't use the credit because the Army is sending me back to Texas. I then stated, my military unforeseen circumstances was something I could not prevent. Then I asked instead of giving me a full amount, I believe I'm owed half.Desired Settlement: I will be willing to accept nothing less that $200.00
Business
Response:
However distressing situations like this are, you can hardly run a business without stepping on a few toes from time to time.
Common sense might dictate that I simply pay the $175 [redacted] (at first) requested and be done with the affair.
But I'm sorry, I will not be bullied by this confused, immature and uninformed person.
I process dozens of registrations every year. I do an enormous amount of career counseling and I make the school policies as flexible as possible for the numerous extenuating circumstances that come my way. You can imagine I encounter many, many different types of personalities.
As you'll be able to ascertain from the enclosed correspondence, [redacted] has a shaky grasp of how the real world operates.
For example;
For no explained reason he changed his name. (Originally registered under [redacted]) He has trouble understanding how his payment is processed.
He suddenly gets sick (that's always a red flag of someone who has commitment issues) He offers no proof that he is actually in the military.
He professes to really want this training but everything conspires against him.
He then decides to pull the patriot card to demand money unfairly and strictly against our refund policy. When all else fails he attempts to put a black mark on our name by getting the Revdex.com involved.
Our Refund policy is on our website and all our printed material.
The refund policy was posted on the registration confirmation I first sent him. Many customers ask about the refund policy before they even register.
If [redacted] was in the military when he registered, surely he knew there was always the possibility of being transferred, why then did he never make that inquiry.
I have made one final compromise regarding his credit as you will see in my correspondence.
Although I risk a black mark against our company name, this is my final answer. No refund.
Sincerely
