We purchased a sliding patio door from Weathersby Windows & Doors that was installed on 04/19/ We first met them at the spring Home and Garden Show in GlendaleThe door we replaced had an integrated alarm sensor and we SPECIFICALLY asked our salesman, Steve O***--actually both walking him to the door for inspection--if it could be integrated into the door he was sellingHe responded "yes", it absolutely would be installed with an integrated sensor
On installation day the installers stated that this could not be done exactly as the prior door, as drilling into the pane would void the warranty and may actually break the glassThey stated the salesman knew this, but it was common practice for this information not to be relayed to the customerHowever, they stated there was a similar product that could be installed and actually drilled a hole into the door frame, pulled the wire through in anticipation of installationThey stated the magnet on the slider itself would
