This well known business is being run into the ground by the violent women answering the phone. They are running a scam for your dollar. Disappointed.
This is a complaint regarding sales practices, customer service and potential billing/collections. Weeks ago, I called W.C. Wright & Son to inquire about the cost of the Fall maintenance service. We discussed this as well as the VIP program they offer. The woman who took my call, (***?) pushed for me to make an appointment so we discussed days I might have available but I ended the call by telling her I wanted to call back to schedule. I never called back as I could not swing the extra cash this time of year. Wednesday 11/27/2019, I received a call from their service tech Don Harrell stating he was on his way to my home. Confused, I told him I hadn't made an appointment. He told me he was going to call the office. Not long after, I got a call from the office. The same woman (***?) insisted that I did make the appointment. I told her I did not want to do the fall maintenance and that I needed to wait for the spring because I didn't have the money at the moment. I thought we agreed and ended the phone call. Minutes later, Don Harrell is at my door. I greeted him and said "I'm so sorry you drove all the way out here. But I didn't schedule a service and just got off the phone with the office to cancel whatever they had." He was very kind and left without problem. Then I received two back to back calls from the office. I answered the second one to be immediately disrespected. She said, "I'm confused. You just told me you wanted the spring service and then turned my tech away?" I responded by explaining again that I wanted the spring service. She aggressively argued that I scheduled the spring service. I apologized for the miscommunication and urged that the current season was fall, not spring. She continued to become more aggressive and told me I was going to be charged a $44 service fee. I'm baffled at this point and asked for someone above her. She handed the phone to another woman sitting next to her who answered the phone by saying, "I've been sitting right here listening the whole time. You DID schedule the appointment." They truly attacked me over the phone. I cannot accurately explain how rude these ladies were to me. I've never been so disrespected by a human before. I can't believe a company treated me this way. I told her that I have been a customer, have referred people to them and was disappointed that I had originally heard of them on the Christian radio station I listen to. The woman responded by saying "You're right! It is a huge disappointment" as to push the blame of bad character to me. I told her I would not be paying their fee and she threatened me with "then it's going on your credit." This was the end of the call. I have not been charged a fee that I'm aware of yet. It is a complete scam to make appointments that customers do not agree to, then aggressively attempt to convince the customer they agreed to it AND charge them a fee for it. If this company sends me a bill, I would like for the amount to be removed from their system and/or collections.
I do not want to be contacted by this company unless by an owner. If there is a charge on my account, I want it removed immediately.
I spoke to both of my employees who spoke with Mrs. and both of them gave me the same story: The lady called and asked for a service call, then when our guy got there, she refused to let him in. Then, she claimed that she didn't ask for a service and that she had asked for a quote, which is wrong because they would have sent someone from the sales department for that, so *** and *** both spoke to her, and neither spoke to her in an ugly manner. *** simply explained to her that she had heard *** speaking with her and they sit right next to each other, so she heard both of them, and that she did in fact order a service call. That call should have been $79 as our guy went all the way to her house and then she told him that she really just wanted a quote. So, *** politely billed her only $44 to cover the cost of gas and his labor for that wasted time, and she did explain that to her when she billed her. We ordinarily do not reduce that fee, but she was trying to be nice to her. I am going to write this fee off entirely, but she needs to quit calling people and wasting their time, if she has no intention of actually paying her bill for hiring someone. As the owner of this company, my husband and I get to pay Don and pay for his truck and gas and insurance and liability insurance and every other cost involved in that time, so it is frustrating when someone doesn't do the right thing and pay for a service that they requested. It does cost money for our men to drive to people's homes, and this one was from downtown Birmingham all the way to Calera, to have them turn around and claim that they never asked for a service. She first asked for fall service then changed her mind and asked for spring service and she was quoted $79 on the phone to begin with to do that service and then she turned him away and acted like she never asked for that service. It makes no sense... And, then she lectured at *** that she wasn't a Christian, as if she knows ***. Christians do not waste other people's time and then file complaints on Revdex.com. We were *** to help her and Don was nice to her when she turned him away.
The only three or four complaints that we have ever had in 74 years, have always been by someone with some type of mental issues or something, is how it seems to me. It's like her version of reality and actual reality are two different things. We work hard to take care of our customers, so this complaint is just an insult!

Chip S diagnosed my problem in just a few minutes. Fix involves attic insulation (not their line of business). He showed me what needs to be done and didn't even charge for the visit. Very Impressive. I've used this company on numerous occasions and have always been pleased with their work.

I have had terrible service with W. C. Wright & Son, Inc. Charged me to refill Freon and for a missing cap - but didn't tell me there was a leak until my AC quit working again and all freon leaked out 3 months later. Serviceman said two people would call me from the office - Karen to give me a quote on repair and someone else to give me a quote on replacing the unit. Several days passed and I never heard from anyone (my AC wasn't working and it's May in Alabama). I called the office and everyone was conveniently out of the office. Left a message for the owner to call me back. It's been a week and I still have yet to hear from anyone from this company.
I DO NOT recommend them at all.
We apologize for this , and will contact the customer to do our best to rectify the situation
