Warning potential WBI customers .....
My financial advisor steered my wife and I to WBI about 4 years ago when we both left our current companies and rolled our 401k's over. I have always watched my money closely. It was not long before I became alarmed when I saw simple index funds with minimal fees rise as my WBI investments fell.
I peeled back the onion to find out what these guys were doing with my retirement money. What I found was right when fracking was taking off, and oil stocks started sinking, these so called experts were investing heavily in oil production companies even as those stocks fell. This is not rocket science fellas. Come on.
But wait theres more. Just then, I got a quarterly report and saw a $3,000 management fee. My reward for them loosing my money. I called my financial guy and ordered him to pull ALL my money out of WBI and roll it into my new company's 401k where I could manage my money myself. My wife followed suit.
Let me tell you, that was the best decision we made ever. No more actively managed funds ever in my future. No thank you.
I strongly recommend staying away from WBI. Put your money in a low cost index fund. You will be so much better off. I just cannot believe WBI is even still in business. Terrible financial investors.
As I am writing this I found WBI on GlassDoor. From what I read this company is laced with nepotism, friends and family.
We value our clients and apologize that you were unhappy with your experience with us. WBI’s active investment process seeks to manage risk to capital, take advantage of the bene?ts of compounding, and manage capital ef?ciently in bull and bear market cycles over the long term. We believe it is far more important to focus on preserving and growing capital than exclusively focusing on return. We expect our risk-managed approach may outperform in bear markets by minimizing loss, and could underperform in the later stages of a bull market as risk increases. This response is not intended to substitute for investment advice. We encourage potential clients to consult with a financial adviser regarding the applicability of our investment management program to their individual situation prior to investing. Past performance does not guarantee future results. This is not an o?er to buy or sell any security.
