Review: On Feb 19th, I contacted Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority regarding a business proposal (eyebrow threading cart) in the common area of either Dulles International Airport and/or Reagan Airport. They referred me to their retail management company, [redacted] (**). I contacted ** with my idea on March 20th, I submitted the proper applications, and provided all the necessary financial information necessary.
I heard nothing for a week, so on Feb 26th I emailed the firm, to which [redacted] responded she will send me proposal that day. I never received the proposal, so I emailed her again Feb 27th, no response. I emailed again on March 5th, to which she responded that I call her. I called and she stated, "We need a beauty cart, we do not currently have anyone selling beauty products, so this would be great if you could supplement it with beauty items." I promptly agreed and that day send her 3 new proposals outlining different products we could offer, she suggested we sell nail items, which I included in the new proposals. I anxiously await a response, to which I received none, so I emailed and called this individual on March 11th, to which she responded with a broad price range and a statement, " I should have an answer from the GM tomorrow and will call you then."
Predictably, I never received a call, so again on March 13th I emailed her along with her colleagues and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. I hear back from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority that [redacted] contacted me the day before and told me that "proposal and while interesting, it does not fit in with our current needs at Dulles or National Airport." This never occurred, which leads me to believe there are severe communication deficiencies in this organzation, lack of professionalism, and even discriminatory preclusion from doing business in these settings, which, being public entities, is illegal. I requested a
formal explanation from upper level management as to how and why this doesnt fit on March 15th.Desired Settlement: I would like a formal explination and apology as to why this doesnt work when clearly I was told this was a needed services in their current spaces. I would also like the replecment of this [redacted] indivual who clearly lacks business repoire. And lastly, I would like the opportunity to do business in these settings, ulitmately, that is what this all about.
