I received the vaccines, but was not provided a CDC authorized vaccine card. The situation in the pharmacy at the time was chaotic, and I certainly understood being in the midst of a national health crisis. I consulted with the CDC after learning I needed a vaccine card , who directed me to the original provider. On 9.23.21 I returned and inquired what I needed to do to receive my vaccine card- I had my appointment #, my online verifications of receiving the shots from Walgreens own customer portal, and a print out copy I brought with me on the original appointment days.
The first pharmacist, who was incidentally the same person who neglected to provide me a vaccine card, listened to me, rolled her eyes so I would know she was displeased, and asked her co-worker to handle me "because I needed a card or something". Her co-worker was a slight Indian female who listened to my explanation again, looked at my printouts and proof of vaccination, and then replied "I don't believe you. You received the card. We can review the camera footage". I told her that would be fine, here's the exact dates and times, now go pull the camera footage.
She immediately said "you have to get the card from the CDC"- I knew that was inaccurate. I told her I had just spoken with the CDC and this is not correct. She told me I was wrong and that she could not help me.
Obviously, Walgreens has a serious issue with oversight in this particular facility. These people require remedial training and instruction on correct customer care techniques- The scariest part of the experience is consider that the same person who couldn't accept responsibility for neglecting a vaccine card is the same person responsible for doling out life saving or potentially lethal medications to the public.
