Review: I went to Vision Works at the Southland Mall in Houma, LA, for an eye exam and to be fitted for contacts on 1-11-13. I was supposed to go back in a week for a follow up and to get the contacts I ordered but I was unable to go back until 2-5-13. The Dr I was seeing, Dr. [redacted], did the follow up exam but said the particular contacts I ordered were not in stock and I would receive a call when they came in. I never received a call about them and shortly after the follow up exam I was laid off from my job, my car broke down and I had to leave town for a period of time. I just got back into town on 6-10-13. I was not able to get to Vision Works until this week on 6-24-13 and they had my contact lenses yet refused to give them to me. They also made a clerical error and there was no record of me returning for the follow up exam. The manager says I did not return for the follow up exam and if I did the lenses I ordered are always in stock. I was told that after 6 months passes I have to start all over again, paying for another exam and follow up. It was only two weeks past the 6 months of the initial exam and it has been LESS than 6 moths after the follow up, which is when the 6 month time period is supposed to start. I was first told I would be refunded for the cost of the lenses and the club plan but the money had to be transferred to my bank account, which was closed several months ago. I went to my bank and they told me the money could not be transferred because of the closed account. I returned to Vision Works and the manager set up a corporate check to be mailed to me. He then called me the next day saying the corporate check was denied. Now I am being denied my refund, which totals $140.Desired Settlement: I simply want the 140 dollars I am owed. The bank I had an account with said if Vision Works wires money in my name to them, they can not accept it and the money would be wired back to Vision Works. It makes no sense for Vision Works to first tell me a check is in the mail, then claim they can not send it. Just send the check and be done with this!
