Virginia School of Pet Grooming Reviews (%countItem)

My daughter enrolled in the Virginia School of Pet Grooming to learn to become a dog groomer. After 12 + weeks progressed in the school, the director contacted me to tell me that my daughter was not doing well and should withdraw (this contact was made after the contract stated that no refund world be given after 12 weeks). I went in to the school and observed my daughter and for the majority of the time in school, the students were left unattended while the 2 instructors ate doughnuts or talked at the reception area.

Virginia School of Pet Grooming Response • Sep 30, 2019

I finished the dog for her and her mother my instructor an office manager had a meeting to discuss the situation at hand. Her mother understood the problems we encountered and the efforts we gave her. At this meeting with my staff present she requested to withdraw *** so she can try do something else for her. I'm a proprietary trade school college through the State Council of Higher Education, I have gone above and beyond the Call of Duty to help ***. I have counseled *** and I also have communicated and counseled her mother. ***'s mother could at any time have withdrawn her and received a refund back for whatever percentage she would be eligible for. She chose to continue ***'s attendance with the hope that things would change for ***. Her mother had withdrawn ***, and there is no refund available to her. Peter P Director From: Peter P Director Virginia school of pet grooming. RE: Response to complaint ID number ***. My apologies for my late response but there was a death in my family and I've been out of town. I reviewed the complaint from *** and it is quite surprising of what she has to complain about. Her daughter, ***, was enrolled in school for the all-breed course to become a professional groomer. *** is a *** year old woman who has an affinity for animals and a very nice young woman, but unfortunately she was struggling through the course from day one. As a proprietary trade school through the State Council of Higher Education I'm required to keep accurate records on every student. Unfortunately ***'s mother has not accurately stated or intentionally omitted events that occurred during her daughter's attendance at our school. My staff and I worked diligently with *** in order to have her be able to move forward in the course. Week by week we worked with her and there was very little progress in her ability to retain the information and execute the technical ability that was needed to move forward. A part of her mother's inaccuracy in her complaint is that in fact I have contacted her over three times with regards to her daughter's performance and abilities. I have logged in phone calls with ***'s mother every 3 weeks from the time she started. I reviewed with her the circumstances that *** was under and the problems she was having. Her mother informed me after the first phone call that her daughter has a learning deficiency that causes her not to retain information and repetition is the only way she is able to process and learn. This disability was not put on her application so I was unaware of the problem that *** has. Apparently ***'s mother has a degree in psychology and was giving me advice on how to deal with her daughter's learning disability. I was happy to accommodate her for *** sake but as time went on I made additional calls to her mother advising her that the situation was not progressing in a positive direction. The last phone call that I made to her mother was that at this stage of her training it was highly unlikely that she would be able to graduate fulfilling the requirements of the Board of Education. She requested that she come in and monitor her daughter which I said that would be great. Her statement that no one was there to supervise her and that were eating donuts and talking up front is absurd. Both I and my other instructor supervised her on the dog that she was to groom. In fact she made huge mistake and cut off the dog's front feathers off before anyone could stop her. Her mother was upset and sad for her and it was then when she finally comes to the realization that's *** could not do even this most basic grooming. At that point
