My grandmother is 81 and I am writing this on her behalf though I have placed her name as the one filing the complaint.
*Village Plumbing and Air came to my grandmother's home. She is 81 years of age. After attempting to 'repair' the unit, which we already knew needed replacement, they were going to charger her approximately $200 for this service, but offered to 'waive' that fee if she had them install a new unit.
They recommended their top product of course, which they told her was of superior everything.
The previous model was an ***. The model they installed was an I *** The only upgrades were from galvanized steel to stainless, 1/2 hp to 3/4, and the Pro had a more robust sound dampening.
They told her that the old unit was aluminum, that it was a 'cheap' make, that the old one would rust if it already hadn't but that this new one wouldn't, and that the new one worked 'differently' from a cheap disposal and was therefore better.
I'm not arguing that it was an upgrade, though their claims were more than a little off the mark.
The problem comes in what they charged her. The Pro 750 costs $279 if you buy it retail. We all know that a company does not buy their products retail, they buy wholesale. They charged my grandmother, initially, $865.33. They then told her she would get a discount if she signed up for their annual membership. This brought the price down to $786.66. That is a 181.9% markup from the *retailprice of the unit. They also charged her $99 for their membership. Meaning her total was $885.66. That's $20.33 more than the initial gouging.
The membership includes x2 visual inspections of the HVAC unit per membership, x1 visual inspection of the drain lines and faucets per membership year, reduced weekend/holiday fees, and reduced service prices.
But they did give her 'free' installation.
I have attempted speaking to someone at the company but so far have just been sent directly to voicemail with no return response.
So in a nutshell if you're considering this company? Run. Run away to *anybodyelse, and burn the path so they can't follow you.

Village Plumbing and Air
I'm writing to amend my previous review when I complained about the high price to unblock a shower drain. The company contacted me to amend the price which I gratefully accepted. My assessment is that that Village Plumbing is quite possibly the top of the line when it comes to plumbing repair in this area, and as such, they charge premium prices to maintain their knowledgeable, well-trained, and courteous staff; their extensive fleet of vehicles and equipment; and their dominance of the market share. There are times when quality at all costs is the primary concern in which case Village Plumbing should be your first call.
On 12/20/19, Village Plumbers came to my home to unclog my shower drain. When I made the appointment, Village Plumbers would not give me an estimate for this service. I was charged $380 for this service. On the same day and prior to the scheduled appointment, I called the dispatcher about the time of the appointment and also wanted to confirm that they were running a $149 shower drain special. I saw this special advertised on TV. The dispatcher confirmed this special. When the plumbers showed up, I was told that there was not a shower drain special and gave me a price of $380. The Village plumber service man apologized for the confusion and said that he would make sure that the issue was addressed. I approved the service because I had guests coming for the *** the next morning and didn't have time to look for a more reasonably priced service. Unclogging my drain took less than 15 minutes. I think that Village Plumbers should have honored the $149 price as I was told on the phone by their dispatcher.
Mrs.
I want to sincerely apologize for the negative experiences that you had with our company. After reviewing the calls the customer was told several times by customer service that the plumber would have to verify if the stoppage she was experiencing was apart of the special. When the dispatcher called the client, she asked again and was told her particular problem was apart of the special. We have agreed to refund the client $231 for her inconvenience . The refund was processed by our accounting department on 1/27/2020 at 9:54am. Please allow 7-10 business days for this credit to appear in your account or on your statement. We will contact Mrs. in the coming weeks to ensure the funds have been received.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.
I would like to suggest that Village give an estimated range of cost for their services. I understand that it is difficult to give an estimate over the phone, and without a thorough evaluation of the situation.
Their service was poor, they lied to us and never delivered what was promised. DO NOT USE THEM!
I contracted Village Plumbing and Home Services to add two units to my HVAC system that will accommodate 5 inch wide *** Carbon Merv 16 filters. Instead, they installed a *** unit that does not accommodate the *** filter I wanted. It only fits lesser quality filters.
I requested a detailed quote broken down by parts and labor to add clarity and ensure I was getting what I asked for. I was told they don’t do that. When the sales guy explained that the units came with just a basic filter, I requested they install the units with the high quality *** carbon filter I wanted and to bill me the extra cost. The sales guy recommended I purchase those filters on my own since they would cost a lot more if I got them through Village. In addition, the installation tech tried to leave without showing me how to replace the filter. After removing the panel, I could see that a 4 inch *** filter was installed. The tech assured me that the 5 inch *** filters I wanted would fit in this space. Well, they don’t.
I was very specific with my original request. The sales guys feels that since I wanted a “carbon” filter and the *** unit can accommodate an off brand carbon filter, it’s close enough. I paid extra money to go with a “high quality” contractor in order to get the highest air quality for my wife and newborn child. Instead I got the old bait and switch.
I am sorry to hear about the disappointment with our services and understand your frustration. Our HVAC Manager, Billy let me know that he has been in contact with you and you are on our schedule for Friday morning. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to take action and get you what you want. Please feel free to contact myself or Billy if you have any further concerns.

The repair guys showed up without the parts required despite clear instructions from their boss. This resulted in a trip to the store and another trip to my residence. The issue is now resolved.
Thanks,
