Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Let me first start by stating the facts. In my original complaint when I said I took the dress back the first time to show the hem was longer on one side, that was because the dress was crooked. It was not because I wanted him to make it even shorter. Every time I took the dress back it was because the dress was hemmed crooked. Their statement saying I wanted it even shorter is incorrect. I am including photos to show that the hem was crooked and that the inside liner was longer then the outside. These photos were taken after the third alteration. The photos will show the poor quality of workmanship. Photos one and two show the unevenness of the hem , Photo three and four show the crooked stitching and a close-up of the liner sticking out, Photo number five shows that he actually sewed the tag with the washing instructions into the hem. I didn't even initially include the fact that he sewed the label in the hem because I didn't think it would come to this. I think a picture says 1000 words on the poor quality of the work. Thanks. Sincerely, [redacted]

Review: I gave 2 Suits and 2Shirts for dry cleaning on August28th, 2013. I picked up the suits on September3rd, when I checked at home one of the coats had 3 holes in almost a line at the bottom of the coat in front and back. my wife took the clothes to the cleaner the owner refused to talk and turned away from the couter just saying he is not responsible for any damage to the clothes, this is a brand new suit worn only once. The holes are too prominent and visible making the suit unfit for use. the holes if were pre existing could have been easily identified by the cleaner prior to cleaning which were not.Desired Settlement: I would like to see if the holes can be repaired or refund provided for my new coat.

Dear **. [redacted],
Village Cleaners is more than happy to oblige with the Revdex.com’s request to gather more information about this situation. In over 20 years of experience in the dry cleaning and laundry industry, the representatives of Village Cleaners have consistently strived for excellence and diligence to the services that are provided. We would like to emphasize that garments are not purposely destroyed nor intended to be damaged. During the physical cleaning and ironing process, the development of holes is highly unlikely. On our premise, we recently installed the Satec B-700 which is an environmentally-friendly machine that gently cleans clothes. Furthermore, the ironing process for all suits is accomplished by hand with a steam-presser.
Unforeseeable factors such as environmental or chemical damage can affect outcomes of certain garments. Small stains that are obtained during the use of the garment by the consumer can also contribute to potential reasons for holes. Stains contain sugar and even the minutest amount of stains can attract insects that can cause small fibers to be eaten and holes to be produced.
At this point in the time, Village Cleaners will be able to offer all parties who are involved the opportunity to submit a request for an official investigation done by the Dry-cleaning and Laundry Institute (DLI). The DU offers garment analysis services that will be able to provide more scientific and evidenced-based rationale for the reason lor why the holes occurred. You can easily access their organizational website at www,dl ionline.org for more information.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Village Cleaners
Review: I dropped off 2 curtain panels on Saturday, 30 November 2013 for altering. I was told the cost of the work to be performed would be $60.00 and I was given a receipt for $60.00. On Saturday, 7 December 2013 when I went to pick up my curtains, I was told the bill was $100.00. I was never informed that there was a price increase for the work, nor would I have agreed to the increase in price. The Cleaners would not return my curtains unless I paid the $100.00. The receipt states that they are "Not responsible for items left over 30 days". I am afraid that unless this gets resolved, I will lose my curtains or be forced to pay the $100.00 that I never agreed to.Desired Settlement: The amount due by me should be $60.00; the price I was quoted and the price shown on the receipt. My curtains should be returned to me at the $60.00 price agreement.
