I ***, took my daughter ***s 05 Buick Lacrosse to *** on Dec 20, 2018. *** (mechanic/owner) quoted a price of $500 upfront to purchase rebuilt transmission from Akron, and $300 for labor when I pick up the finished car, total of $800 plus 6 month warranty. I gave him $500 on Dec 20th, 2018 and he told me car would be finished in 3-5 days. A week went by and I never heard from him. I called him multiple times and never got an answer. I went up to the shop and could never catch up with him. The car was still sitting in same place, with flat tires. Not touched! On Thursday Jan 3, 2019 I went to *** and talked to ***, he promised the car would be done on Friday, January 5th. I went back on January 5th and the car was still in the same spot, not touched. *** wasn't there so I left,
On Jan 16, 2019 I received a call from *** telling me that the car was fixed and ready to go. when I arrived the car was already running and he told me he wanted to take me for a ride around the block to test drive it. we went around the block and the car seemed to be running good and shifting. I then paid him the $300 balance. I left in the car and was about two miles up the road and the car quit shifting, doing the same thing it was doing when I dropped it off. I went back up to the shop and told *** what happened and told him the car is nit drivable and he told me that he would have his guy pick it up with the tow truck and he would fix it, He never came! I delivered the car to him on jan 17, 2019. He promised that he had everything under control and figured out and the car would be ready the next day on Jan 18, 2019. I went back on that date and the car was still sitting in same place, not moved or touched. On Jan 25, 2019 the car was still sitting in same place now with flat tires again.
my daughter went to *** on Feb 14,2019 and the car was still sitting in same spot. My daughter asked *** what was going on with her car and he stated that he was still waiting on the transmission from Akron since the first one was bad. *** told him that he has had her car since December 20, 2018 and she thought that was plenty of time to fix the car. She told *** she just wanted her money back. *** refused stating "I don't work for free" he then promised the car would be fixed by Feb 20, 2019. on feb 20th the car still wasn't moved. March 2, 2019 I paid to get my car towed from *** not fixed.
I seek assistance from BBC because business was not handled properly. I had my car fixed twice from Rene Racing Repair, both times I didn't have my car longer than two weeks. The third time my vehicle was unable to start was September 24th. My child, sister and I went to the park, went to ***, and was unable to leave. Me and my sister pushed the car to a parking lot then I went across the street to a repair shop. Two of the employees came over and took a look at it and said whoever fixed it did something wrong. My mom later picked us up from my sisters (that stays in Oberlin). My dad went to the shop and talked to Rene about the car. He said he would take care of it. *** was okay with my car staying there for the night, but Oberlin Police may have an issue. I wrote a note on the window if my car. It was there for two days after that. His tow driver received my key and all Oberlin Police did end up towing my car to *** on Rt. 57. The owner of that place called me and explained why it was being towed which I knew would be the result if my car wasn't picked up. My dad went to Rebe's shop the next morning and spoke with him about my car being towed after he was told it was going to be too Ken care of. My dad lives closer to Rene's shop, and he has the transportation. Rene gave my dad $50 towards the tow bill which was $185.94. I got stuck with the bill and Rene said he's not fixing my car. They did not get paid for fixing it the other time and this would've been the second time with them fixing it with no pay. The warranty is 30 days, my car lasted for a week-two weeks. This is wrong and could've been handled dufferently. I'm a single mom, I work and go to school. It's hard already, but now it's even harder to do everything that I have to do with no transportation of my own and the distance I stay between some family is hard. When I reached out to contact Rene he would never respond to me, nor call me back. I just want my car, and for it to work properly. Thank you for your .
