An emergency center should be able to provide some kind of emergency help.
I took my dog for a walk, found a bee on her leg which I pulled off, kept walking. My dog vomited a couple times, then fell over on her side. I carried her home she was very lethargic, drank alot of water, vomited again. We took her to the emergency center, during our 2 hour wait I notice red spots on her belly. When the vet finally came to look at her, her heart was racing quite a bit, I explained everything, told her about the spots, asked her about the dog being allergic to the possible bee sting. They proposed running about 6 tests for $650 to figure out the underlying problem on top of paying $90 to walk in the door. I asked if they could do something to make the dog more comfortable and I would take her to her vet in the morning and was told "if she makes it until the morning". I believe an emergency center should be able to help out with a temporary fix and then refer you to your vet as a hospital emergency room would do.
A refund would be nice, but I really want to warn others that this facility is in to get every possible test done in order to charge an exorbitant amount of money when a person is vulnerable because their pet it sick.
We understand how frustrating this situation can be for you. Without going in to specific medical details, our doctor was concerned with several different medical conditions based on the history and signs your pet was showing that day. Unfortunately, several symptoms that were explained to our staff that day do not match up with an allergic reaction to a bee sting. Therefore, the estimate for diagnostics were to address those other concerns, not the bee sting. Some of these concerns were very serious for your pet. We apologize if that information was not properly and clearly expressed to you by our doctor and staff. Please feel free to call the office or email us so we can discuss the details of your visit and clear up any confusion. We do appreciate your review. Again, we apologize that you had such a negative experience with our hospital.
