Our A/C wasn't working so we called for the $49.99 tune-up special. A technician came out and we were told the unit was shot. A new unit would cost around $8000. The technician even showed my husband his electrical circuit tester saying the compressor was shorted out. We decided to get a few other quotes. Another company came over an hour later and the technician said the unit was fine, there was corrosion on the wire connections. He took some sandpaper to them and now the A/C works fine. Cost $105.
