Valvoline Instant Oil Change Reviews (%countItem)

On January 8th 2020 I went in to get my oil changed at Superior Lube valvoline located in Frisco co. While performing the oil change, the oil pressure sensor was broken. This caused an oil leak in my vehicle. Not knowing that this had happened I drove off thinking that everything was fine. Having no oil in it after a while, my motor then seized up. I took the car to my mechanic who informed me that we need to fix the oil sensor first, before we could determine how damaged the engine was. Superior Lube took responsibility for the damaged sensor and paid to have it fixed. Once it came to light that the engine would need to be replaced, they abandoned their quest to make things right saying that the engine was not their responsibility. Even though the damaged sensor was what caused the engine damage.

We did not receive any evidence or proof engine damage. To our knowledge as communicated by the customer's chosen mechanic at ***; there is a slight knock coming from the engine as a result of the vehicle running low on oil. The customer drove the vehicle 450 miles after service before noticing an issue. We have video showing our technician checking oil pressure with the guest as well as putting in the required amount of oil and showing it to ***. One of our values as a company is to be fair and honest with all employees and customers, we feel we did that in this case. We covered the pressure sensor as a courtesy to *** not as an act of pleading guilty. He was very persistent, irrational and aggressive during his conversations with our technicians, Store Manager, office staff and operations manager. *** called the service center the day prior to bringing his vehicle to the mechanic but would not allow us to come look at the vehicle. If the sensor was broken during our service. this means he would have showed blatant negligence by operating his vehicle for 3 weeks and 450 miles without oil pressure and a major oil leak. In our opinion, it is more likely that this damage was caused in a different matter. Please see below email sent to *** after from our Operations Manager after several phone calls from ***. Please see attached invoice from ***.

Hi ***, I want to start by saying the notes from your service technician at Goodway Auto Repair, my area manager, and Service Center Manager Marcus have NOT said the engine is "SEIZED". The notes and things I have heard is that there is a slight engine noise at high RPMs around 3,000, which means the engine is still running. We have numerous cars come into our places of business with "engine noises". An oil sample with proof that there is more than average wear metal in your engine would be a more sufficient way to determine if damage has been caused. Even if there was damage you are attributing this alleged engine noise/damage to a broken sensor. I can only assume the alleged engine damage did not happen because of a broken sensor it happened because you kept driving a vehicle with issues that should have been fixed immediately. My understanding is that the gauge was working properly when you pulled into the service center. If it was not working when you went to leave the service center the customer service representative standing in your window should have been informed immediately. Oil pressure sensors and no oil pressure in your vehicle is not anything that you can shrug off and continue to operate your vehicle. The bottom line is you continued to drive your vehicle with gauges not working for 21 days and 450 miles. These vehicles come equipped with these gauges and sensors for a reason. Driving with your vehicle in that condition was not our decision and therefore we will not assume any liability. You are more than welcome to pursue us through small claims court and we will be happy to defend ourselves with the facts we have. I see no need to discuss this any further with Paul or Myself you have your answer and it is not going to change. We have helped you with what we are willing to at this point and will not be helping any further. ThanksDustin WalcherOperations ManagerValvoline Instant Oil Change
