I went to Valvoline on Friday 01/10/2020 for an oil change. The mechanic suggested I also change my air filter, I agreed. The mechanic struggled to get the air filter off and asked for help. Another mechanic came over and removed the air filter cover. The mechanic then struggled to put the air filter back in, so the other mechanic had to come back in to screw the air filter cover back on. I paid and left after servicing. I drove home and parked my car. When I got into my car again my check engine light was on. The next day I took my care to *** Auto to have them run the test to see why my check engine light was on. I told them that I got an oil change and my air filter replaced, so they popped my hood. *** immediately noticed that my air filter cover was not put on correctly and was actually damaged. They put the air filer cover back on properly but advised me that a bracket was broken and I needed to contact Valvoline for repairs. They then checked my check engine light. The message from the test indicated a code for O2 (Oxygen) Sensor. I have pictures on my phone of air filter (damage) and engine (showing oil all over). I filed a complaint with Valvoline on Monday 01/13/2020. The assistant manager called me back on 01/14/2020 to advice me that if the air filter isn't put on proper it will "chock the car" and that if I want any repairs I have to take the car to a full service shop to investigate prove they are responsible.It is ridiculous I have to pay out of pocket to go get my car looked at to prove Valvoline caused damage to my car, when the air filter was fine and the check engine light wasn't on prior to servicing.
In response to the complaint for *** she went to our store *** not store 060040 on Columbus Rd, in Canton.
The Manage*** of the store she visited has been trying to reach her since we received this complaint with no success. She will not return phone calls so we can setup a time and date to see her vehicle and correct any issue she claims.
Until we can see her vehicle, we are considering the issue closed.
On September 1, 2017 I took my 2015 Explorer in to this location for an oil change. A technician disconnected the glove box to check the cabin air filter and in the process broke the glove box. no one was able to fix or reattach the glove box.
called. Customer has a damaged glove box. Glove box was damaged during the air cabin filter replacement. We are going to replace the whole glove box. *** is supplying the part for $311.34. Pending invoice.

I am glad that the glove box was replaced but I had to call three times to ultimately make it happen. No one ever contacted me about the replacement...all the effort came from me. I feel like a refund for services rendered would also be appropriate.
