Lots of rides/sections closed 5/29 & skimping on Dipping Dots kiosk 7/3
I've brought my kids to Valleyfair with friends twice, 5/29/23 for a birthday party and again 7/3/23 for fun. The first time, 5/29/23 this year many of the rides were closed. Even the lazy river wasn't open, Thunder Canyon was closed, and several other rides were closed. Was told they didn't have enough workers or it was due to technical difficulties. We made due but it was disappointing. When waiting for the swing ride a group of 20 kids got off the ride then proceeded to run past the whole line budding in front of us to ride it again. I asked the worker why this was acceptable and she said wasn't aware of that and why didn't I say something earlier (which I did at the first opportunity when we got to the front). The crowd and atmosphere changes starting at about 7pm. We brought 6 and 7 year olds so it was disturbing to see. We witnessed about 15 middle school to high school kids get escorted out by security on 5/29.

Today less rides were closed. The North Star closed due to high winds which is understandable. Excalibur was closed not sure why. The Wave was closed when we went by at 8pm, not sure why.

At the Dipping Dot stand we always buy a treat. Great thing is there's a dairy free option for one of my kids. We're grateful for that which is why we always make a point at stopping by. Today, on 7/3/23 @ 8:05pm, the gentleman filled our usual cup only 1/2 full for my son and daughter and 2/3 full for the 2 of their friends we purchased for. I asked why it wasn't filled to the top like we usual get it. I was told they have 2 different large cups. Then I asked why it wasn't filled consistently to the same level. No answer. He had me swipe my card twice to pay stating the first time didn't work. When I asked for a receipt he said he couldn't give me one. We left feeling ripped off and unsatisfied.

I went to Valleyfair with my girlfriend, my friend, and his girlfriend. We had a great time there riding all the rides and walking around. At the end of the day, my girlfriend and I went to my car to make out for a little bit. Then out of nowhere this security guy (I think his name was David) comes to my door and says that "this is a family establishment, we've already gotten 2 complaints, either go to the park or find another place to do that." I doubt anyone complained about us kissing unless some people are that insensitive. The creepy thing is that this security guard was watching my girlfriend and me for a minute before I even noticed him. He didn't even knock on my window to tell us to stop. My girlfriend and I don't like that, we find it very uncomfortable. This security guard's actions seemed a little perverted. Thank you for listening.

Mr. [redacted] -  Thank you for bringing your concern to the Revdex.com.  I have been able to do some research into your concern and believe that I have found the root of the issue.  According to our records, your Gold Season Passes for the 2017 Season were purchased...

in late August of 2016.  Our Pre-K pass program was not introduced until mid September.  Everyone who had a Season Pass purchased and was between 3-5 years old would have received an email informing them at the time that they could exchange their passes for Pre-K passes.  Apparently that email did not make it to you, and for that I apologize.   We would be happy to provide a Pre-K pass for Miles, and transfer the paid pass to a 3rd person.  Technically we cannot "transfer" a pass from one person to another, so I believe that our Guest Services team will need to refund the pass, then charge back another pass at the price you originally paid ($72 + tax).   What I will ask you to do is stop at the Admissions Building on your next visit to the park, let them know we were in contact and that there is a Guest Service ticket open that includes the above remedy.   If you have any further questions - please feel free to let me know.   Best,  Matt [redacted] | Director of Marketing & SalesValleyfair Amusement Park[redacted]@valleyfair.com

the opportunity to select the Easy-Pay option with the following breakdowns:  9 Payments for purchases made before November 1, 6 Payments for purchases made before June 1, and 3 Payments for purchases made before July 1, with no Easy-Pay option available after July 1.  This has been the case since Easy-Pay was introduced in 2012.  With that said - I want to be sure that we are able to make your experience and decision to be a Gold Season Passholder with Valleyfair is a positive one.  I would like to offer you a complimentary Fast Lane Pass for a future visit to Valleyfair.  The Fast Lane pass can be used to access many rides in the park with a significantly shorter wait time.  Once I receive confirmation that this is acceptable to you, I will have those passes placed at Will Call for you to pick up.  Please feel free to reach out to me directly with any issues you may have.
