Review: I have a signed contract with [redacted] for work to be done on my home. I gave [redacted] a check for $7000.00 for materials which he cashed almost immediately over a year ago. Due to insurance issues I had to delay the work all the while keeping in contact with [redacted] with updates. Finally the insurance company finished all of their inspections and I was given the ok to start working on my house. I contacted [redacted] and he assured me that he would start the work. When he did not show up and I did not hear from him I called and emailed him and he never responded. I sent a registered letter to his business address and it was returned and marked undeliverable. I had a neighbor of my sister, who also happens to be an old friend of his, call [redacted] to see why he hasn't contacted me. He said that I was pushing him to start the work and he wasn't ready. He also told his friend that he would call me. That was months ago and I still have heard nothing. I want my $7000.00 back immediately! I was told by my insurance company that if I don't get the work done in a reasonable amount of time that I will lose the additional monies I have in escrow. I DO NOT want [redacted] to work on my home at this point. I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK.Desired Settlement: I simply want my $7000.00 back that he basically stole from me by cashing my check, not buying materials with it and never contacting us to start the work that I have a contract for!
