2. On Sunday January 22, 2023 at 10:08 a.m. I received an emailed from a Tammy with “Vacasa” stating “I need to inform you on an important change to your reservation: The vacation home you booked for your upcoming trip at the Oceanside Inn unit 901, will not be available due to deemed unsafe since inspection after Hurricane.” Relocation Serves Team # (288-533-4954).
Please note that this was less than 30 day of my arrival.
3. On January 22, 2023 at 12:29 p.m. Tammy from “Vacasa” sent an email stating “Here are the units I found and have placed them on a temporary hold for you to look at. “(Total of 3 rooms were presented at the same place)
4. On January 22, 2023 at 1:06 p.m. I rebooked with a different unit with the promise it would be guarantee that I would not have the same problem of them cancelling on me again and it was less than 30 days before arriving. Confirmation # XXXX for Unit #1204 was provided.
5. On February 10, 2023 just 7 days before check in, I got an email from ”Vacasa” confirming again that everything was a go for the 17th check in, stating “ Your access codes or instruction for the Oceanside Inn for Unit 1204 will arrive via text and email one day before February 17th”.
6. On February 14, 2023 I got an email from Priceline confirming my reservation for 2/17/23 to 2/20/2023. “You have now confirmed and guaranteed your reservation by Credit Card”.
7. On February 16, 2023 at 2:40 p.m. I received a email from “Vacasa” that or room would be ready for check in at 4:00 p.m. and got the password for the key entre XXXXX was provide.
8. On February 17, 2023, I was coming from Cape Canaveral Florida; I was driving and could not read the email that I guess had been sent. Upon arriving in Daytona Beach I went to store to get grocery. Check in at the front desk and they gave me a parking permit. After getting our baggage and food on the cart to take to the room and got to the door, we could not get it open. I re-checked my email and noticed an email from Tammy from “Vacasa”. So I called “Vacasa” regarding emailed that stated ”My name is Kimberly with “Vacase, and I need to inform you of an important change to your reservation: the vacation home you booked for your upcoming trip, Dayton Beach (Oceanside Inn) #1204 from 2/17/26 to 2/20/23 will not be available due to an On-Boarding issue” What is an On-Boarding issue?
9. On February 21, 2023, Priceline wanted to know how my trip was. So I called and told them that they cancelled on me, your service rep., said NO you cancelled and that I was a no-show!
As you can see that I went to HELL and back for accommodations presented by Priceline. After all this happen I need a place to stay so went on to Expedia to find a room. I did locate another place “Grand Prix Motel”. I booked at with a no cancelation fee or refund. When I arrived, the picture on the website was nothing like to place in person. It was a total RAT TRAP! Since I could not do anything, I had to stay as there were no other places available in the area. I have a complained regarding this place.
I hope you reconsider the places that you have for accommodation. This “Vacasa” management company, (after researching) has over 600 complains in the last year alone also with the Better Business Bureau. There complains were somewhat of the somethings that happen to me. I not sure if you will even look into this company, but you might.
Unhappy Customer
VACASA IS THE WORST!!! They will never answer the phone! We were locked out of our unit because of a faulty doorknob. My family huddled in a rainstorm on a tiny porch for more than 2 hours while I was on hold with #vacasa. My littlest was almost frozen through by the time my husband was able to walk the town and find a locksmith to come help us. Before we even left for the vacation, vacasa never once answered their phone or replied to an email. Property owners should run away from this rental management company! AVOID RENTING THROUGH THEM AT ALL COSTS!
I am an unsatisfied vendor, I signed a contract with ResortQuest in August of 2019 and Vacasa took over in January of 2020. My company was being paid weekly from ResortQuest after Vacasa took over they took payroll from weekly to 15 days to 30 days. Vacasa owes my company $2338 for an unpaid invoice dated 5/25/2020-5/30/2020. I have contacted them directly via facebook and email. I have tried to file complaint with Revdex.com but they do not handle this type of stuff, so I will warn those looking to work with them. They are theives.
DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY!***
-*#*#I would be highly interested in joining or starting a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against them for this illegal policy. They are thieves!
They take 50% on booking day, 50% 30 days prior to your trip.
They took this money on a debit card (same as cash) and when the Chinese Virus swept through, they canceled our rental. They refuse to return ANY money, claiming it "was the county" that canceled the booking. Not true, as the county doesn't have the authority without a court order to cancel or void a 3rd party private transaction.
Regardless, they state: "we're offering a 100% dollar for dollar value for a future credit." THIS IS A TOTAL LIE. What they don't tell you, is that they have no ability to negotiate or offer the same deal at a future date for the same price. I booked the house because it was at a time and price convenient to me and my family (some coming from out of town)
At a future date that is agreeable to future family travel and weather, the price of the same rental is nearly DOUBLE. VACASA WILL NOT cover the price difference, and as a result, you're held hostage to a time and price that is convenient to them and not you. Not to mention that your "future credit" has a booking/usage expiration.
They then offered 110% of the value as credit. But that means absolutely nothing. At a 3 night rental for $800 110% is $880. The extra 80 dollars doesn't do anything when the price is 1.5 or 2 times higher in the future. A complaint on the Revdex.com website sums it up: "...with price and booking fees for 3 days rental today, you can't even get the same rental in the future for only 2 days, even with the 110% they claim to offer." (Because of "peak season" price increases, which they claim to have no ability to guarantee or negotiate with the home owner)
As a result, THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO OFFER OR GUARANTEE a true dollar for dollar future value, and as a result, they have to refund the money. We even offered a compromise to treat it as a standard Cancelation where they keep all the booking fees etc and they refused to compromise.
As a result, we went through our bank to prove that they refused to refund the money, or work towards any kind of compromise if it involved refunds of money.
CONCLUSION: DO NOT SUBJECT YOURSELF to their illegal business practices. They are a billion dollar corporation and they don't care about you because they know the chances of you suing them are very low.
