There obviously seems to be some type of communication issue between myself and V3 Transportation. The company agreed to file on my behalf for the State of FL however they are stating they did not. Since this was a verbal agreement V3 will not confess to this. Nonetheless, V3 states that, "Mr. [redacted] was informed that if he filed and paid based on these miles under his own IFTA authority then V3 would reimburse him for the amount V3 had charged him for fuel tax costs as a solution. He was asked to provide a copy of the filling and proof of payment so we could amend our fillings." Every time I have tried to contact V3 the personnel who answered the phone either placed me on hold indefinitely or bluntly hung up the phone. NEVER was I given the opportunity nor proper instructions on submitting receipts for a refund. Therefore since no one is willing to speak to me directly over the phone, I am requesting V3 to provide me with information including name, address, email etc. (contact information) on where and whom to send my receipt of payment so that I am able to receive my refund.
There was never an agreement between Mr. [redacted] and V3 Transportation that it would be responsible for his Florida IFTA fillings. According to the contract regarding mileage based taxes, "Independent Contractor (Mr. [redacted]) will assume responsibility for the payment of mileage based...
taxes with respect to the Equipment; Carrier(V3) will make deductions from Independent Contractor compensation to the extent of the Independent Contractor's responsibility for the payment of such taxes." V3 Transportation made the fuel tax calculation and payment based on the miles run under our motor carrier authority using our IFTA. When Mr. [redacted] objected to the fuel tax deduction, he was informed that if he filed and paid based on these miles under his own IFTA authority then V3 would reimburse him for the amount V3 had charged him for fuel tax costs as a solution. He was asked to provide a copy of the filling and proof of payment so we could amend our fillings. Mr. [redacted] provided no proof of fuel tax filling or payment. That option is still available to him. Also, he has the option of filling his IFTA excluding the miles he ran under our authority so there would be zero tax liability for miles run using V3's motor carrier authority since the miles have been accounted. V3 never implied or advised Mr. [redacted] that it would file and/or pay any IFTA tax return amount due for his company, [redacted], nor was he advised by V3 NOT to file his own company, [redacted]'s, IFTA tax return.
