Review: I called ###-###-#### on 5/**/15 (thinking it was my mortgage company which is ###-###-####). They offered a $100 Rebate Card for a charge of $1.95 for a membership with United Benefits, which membership can be cancelled within 30 days, or a $19.99 monthly charge would begin. I normally would not chance dealing with a gimmick like this. But since I thought I was calling my Mortgage Company, I thought it was safe to take part in this offer. I signed up for the offer. They offered me another promotion, which I accepted for a $1.00 charge for membership, which can be cancelled within 30 days or $19.99 monthly charge would begin. By the 3rd promotional offer, I felt uneasy, wondering why my Mortgage Company would be giving all these offers to us. But I ended up accepting this offer as well, for another $1.00 charge for membership, again could be cancelled within 30 days or a monthly of $19.99 would begin. After accepting this 3rd offer, I thought I would finally get transferred to Customer Service for my Mortgage Company. But the call ended. And at that point, I double checked the number, and realized I had called a 800 number instead of a 866 number. All 3 offers were sending material in the mail, which would include the numbers to cancel the memberships. When the reading materials arrived, luckily the 2nd and 3rd offers came in the mail with enough time to cancel before the 30 days. So I was able to get those cancelled, have confirmation numbers, and my credit card has not been charged for the monthly memberships. I of course was charged the $1.00 for signing up for each. But I am not at all worried about this. It was my mistake for dialing the wrong number. I can handle this small fee that I agreed to. So I have no concerns with the Companies from the 2nd nor 3rd promotional offers, which were Travelers Advantage and Great Fun. Now the first offer with United Benefits, I decided to check out their promotional offer. I replied to an email to have the $100 Rebate processed. But I have felt uneasy about all of this. Well, my credit card has now been charged for the $19.99 today, 6/**/15, technically 29 days from the day I originally called. So I am thinking it's not worth the trouble. I tried to call the Customer Service number for United Benefits they gave me during the original call (###-###-####) to cancel my membership and ask about the early charge, but their Company is closed for the weekend. Since Monday will be after the 30 days, I wanted to hopefully get in contact with someone that can at least put a note in my file somewhere that I tried to call before the end of 30 days to cancel this membership. So I called the original number, ###-###-####. It had the exact same recording as before, offering a $100 Rebate Card. I got through to one of their representatives, and asked to cancel my membership, and explained that I have been charged the monthly fee a day early. The representative said that my name and phone number is not in their system as having a membership, and that they are USA Benefits, not United Benefits. I ended up calling 3 different times, speaking to 3 different representatives, all claiming they have no knowledge of a United Benefits, and of course continued to try and offer me the $100 Rebate for their business USA Benefits. I asked to speak to a [redacted], and he continued to inform me they are USA Benefits, not United Benefits. He admitted to having heard of United Benefits, but had no way to contact them, cancel my membership, nor could get me in touch with anyone that could at least make a note somewhere for United Benefits that I called within the 30 days to cancel this membership. He said this number (###-###-####) is phone advertising, and several businesses could be operating under this same number. But their company is USA Benefits, not United Benefits. I will be calling United Benefits on Monday at their Customer Service number (###-###-####) to cancel this membership. I don't expect any problems with this. And hopefully they will be understanding, and will refund the $19.99 monthly fee since I tried to call within the 30 days, but their office was closed. If I can't get the refund, it will be yet another lesson learned, at a cost. But my complaint or issue that I would like to inform the Revdex.com...the ###-###-#### advertising number. I am sure they are operating within their rights. But the fact that within 30 days of calling, they have the EXACT same recording (asks if you are 50 years or older press 1, if not press *, then followed by the $100 Rebate offer to be used at [redacted], etc), but the Company they represent is a completely different Company. 30 days ago it was United Benefits, today it is USA Benefits.Desired Settlement: For the Nature of Complaint, I selected Contract Issues because of the monthly charge from United Benefits coming before 30 days of cancellation. The Desired Resolution of a Refund, I will pursue on Monday (05/**/15) when I can get United Benefits during their business hours. But I believe United Benefits and USA Benefits are really connected, and would really like for someone with the Revdex.com to check out this number ###-###-####. Not sure why, after less than 30 days, they are now a different business name with the exact same promotional offer, and have no information in their system of my call on 05/**/15.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by USA Benefits regarding complaint ID [redacted]. United Benefits did however give me a refund for the early charge on monthly fee. I am only out the initial few dollars to have the reading materials sent. Even though USA Benefits denies being affiliated with United Benefits, I do believe they are and could have assisted. If they are not affiliated, then no, I have not been contacted by USA Benefits.Sincerely,[redacted]
