US Home Guard Reviews (%countItem)

I too, just received a letter from U.S Home Guard today that my property's home warranty, secured by my bank (and they name my bank) is about to expire or may have already expired. I know that I NEVER enrolled in any such home warranty. They go on to say that they "reserve the right to revoke my eligibility for service coverage after 5 days." I guess it is intended as a threat, but I want it to be a PROMISE. I do not want to do business in any way, shape or form with a company as desperate and deceptive as this.
No explanation from this company is necessary. My husband is already calling U. S. Home Guard to initiate the PROMISE.

We are happy to take you off our mailing list. It is important to note that whether the home was new and came with limited warranty or was a purchase and the previous owner had coverage, it sometimes is something consumers aren't aware that was there in the past. We are simply here to help consumers protect their homes at the lowest rates.

Received a final notice from these crooks. Worded in way to believe your about to lose a policy you have with them. Which I don't and never have. They even listed a made up customer ID. The entire letter is written as it is most urgent you contact them before you lose money. From personal experience, you will be way ahead to place premiums in a savings account instead of sending your money to these scam artist's.

US Home Guard Response • Aug 21, 2020

We stand by the verbage in our advertisement, as there is urgency to set up a protection plan BEFORE something happens. Once there is a lapse in coverage and something goes wrong, we can no longer cover that repair because it is labeled a "pre-existing problem".

I like how they try to minimize their actions. Scam all day long. No stars if that was an option.

I recently received a letter from this company, in regards that this is my "FINAL NOTICE". I have never heard from this company or ever got any previous notice. I read the previous reviews and the responses from this company, and honestly if you are attempting not to "look" like a company attempting a SCAM, then do not send letters to people with a false sense of urgency, as if we have prior affiliations with this company. (using our mortgage companies to make the letter look more believable). If this company wants to extend services or find new customers, then they should reach out what they can offer instead of setting up a trap, "falsely" requesting an "immediate response" for people to contact this company under false pretense.

Also received this scam letter. They mention below they dont claim there is an existing policy, but in fact it does. It clearly states "that the property's home warranty, at myaddress, SECURED BY mybank, may be expiring or have already expired."

If a policy has been secured then they are clearly stating that I have an existing policy with them. If not, what exactly has been 'secured' for me by my bank that is due to expire?

Very shady company that should be ashamed of themselves conducting scare tactics business like this with all the other BS thats happening in the world right now.

US Home Guard Response • Jun 29, 2020

We appreciate your feedback. We are not claiming that there was a warranty secured by that bank. That property was secured by that bank. Additionally, we are happy to review this language and see if we can make it clearer.

Just another SCAM company preying on unsuspecting people!!!!
How do we take action against these companies?

Maybe I'm not reading this website correctly. I don't venture on to Revdex.com very often. From what I'm seeing here it says that US Home Guard is not accredited and has a B- rating. Am I reading correctly?
The lady on the phone told me the opposite. That their company is accredited and has an A rating for the last however many years. After reading these reviews and the conflicting information, I don't know what to believe. That's the reason for the 2 stars. I don't have an opinion for this company, as I didn't have enough interaction with them but there weren't any choices for that

US Home Guard Response • Jun 10, 2020

We do have a B- rating, but I'm assuming the representative was speaking about the other companies that we work with that pay and insure the claims. I will pull the call to make sure things are being stated correctly, but I have seen the conversation become confusing sometimes with all the information being passed at once. Thank you for the communication on this item.

Like others, I also received the scam notice from US Home Guard implying that I have an existing warranty with them. "Our records indicate that you HAVE NOT CONTACTED us yet to get your Home Warranty up to date" along with an official "Customer ID".

"IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED"
"Please Call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU"

These sales tactics are infuriating and are done solely to prey on the elderly. You should be ashamed of yourselves, especially in times like these.

US Home Guard Response • Jun 02, 2020

We do not claim that there is an existing policy, but will remove you from our mailing list in the future. Please forward a copy of the mail piece, so that we may take your information out of our system.

intentionally misleading statements in their USPS-distributed letters stating lender-secured Home Warranty is about to expire.
Received "FINAL ATTEMPT" letter via USPS that: "the property's home warranty, (at my address) secured by (my lender), may be expiring, or may have already expired. Our records indicate you HAVE NOT CONTACTED us yet to get your Home Warranty up to date" - "We reserve the right to revoke your eligibiity for service coverage after 5 days". The company is targeting recently-closed escrows (new buyers) and representing through deceptive wording, that Lender has/had initiated Home Warranty. My attempts to contact the company directly via their phone number (XXX-XXX-XXXX) - were unanswered.

Desired Outcome

Cease advertising method

US Home Guard Response • Jun 02, 2020

We stand by all statements on the advertisement, but will add you to our do not mail list. Please forward a copy of the advertisement, so that we may add your information to this list.

Scammers, need prosecution.
Sent me a demanding letter telling me to verify my information. That my home warranty is expiring or may have expired. Stating that I have not contacted us yet to get your home warranty up to date. Please call immediately XXXXXXXXXXX. No return address. And they wrote " We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service coverage after 5 days". They are scammers and they need to be prosecuted. I've already told them to remove me from their scamming list. If they persist with the illegitimate mailings, as a judge, I will seek retribution.

Desired Outcome

To see your faces behind bars wear you all belong. Do not ever contact me nor any one like this ever again. We will arrest you of fraud. I do have judges in Texas.

US Home Guard Response • Jun 02, 2020

We stand by all statements on the advertisement, but will place you on our do not mail list for any future advertisements. Please forward the advertisement, so that we may have your address to delete.

Received my "Final Notice" today about an expiring home warranty that I never had, so I hope this really is the final one. It reference my bank who secured the loan and they have no knowledge of this warranty nor do they hold my mortgage. Please report them as a scam and hope their business goes down along with their reputation, if they have one.

US Home Guard Response • May 26, 2020

We stand by all statements on our advertisement and will add you to our do not mail list for any future products.

Received an ominously-worded letter referring to a home warranty that "may be expiring or may have already expired". Except that we never purchased a home warranty. This is clearly a scam designed to scare homeowners into purchasing a new service agreement.

US Home Guard Response • May 20, 2020

We apologize that our data source was wrong about you having a previous warranty. Is it possible that you had one you didn't know about? Either way, it would make much more sense if you would try our product before calling our company a scam. This review should be removed.

Threatening-type of mail advertisement. Their letter is basically an extortion-tactic.No wonder US Home Guard is not Revdex.com approved!
Received a threatening, extortion-type of mail advertisement dated 4/16/20 that says I have until 4/28/2020 to respond. I claims I HAVE NOT CONTACTED them yet to get my home warranty up to date. Thankfully, they state "this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU". I sure hope so. I'm keeping this letter as proof. This company apparently thinks bullying is a successful tactic in business and life. Most good people DISDAIN companies who treat you like a peon to barked about. It is no wonder they are unable to earn a Revdex.com approved rating.

Desired Outcome

I hope this company, if legitimate, will learn to treat their fellow human beings and potential customers with respect. Second, I wish to never be contacted in any form by them. I will consider it harassment.

US Home Guard Response • Apr 28, 2020

Can you help me understand why you think the letter was threatening? We would like to make sure that ALL consumers are happy with our service.

Customer Response • Apr 30, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Their response was two questions, "Can you help me understand why you think the letter was threatening? We would like to make sure that ALL consumers are happy with our service."
A. It's not my job to fix their incompetent marketing and communications. If they are incapable of analyzing their own work and response to it, then hopefully they will go out of business soon.
B. I see no way of responding to their questions. They sent a letter that clearly implies I am one of their customers (ie, a Customer ID) and stating this is their "FINAL ATTEMPT" and I "HAVE NOT CONTACTED" them yet, all implying that I have been either too lazy or unable to recognize prior attempts - of which there never were any. They further write that "We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service..." Really? That invites NO ONE to want to be your customer.
C. If you are incapable of reading your own work and getting feedback PRIOR to it going out to fellow human beings, then you are just stupid. And as the saying goes, "You can't fix stupid."

US Home Guard Response • May 01, 2020

We simply offered to protect your home, but had to let you know that this isn't an open offer. As homes get older, so do their components. We cannot wait until an aging home has something go wrong and then have consumers contact us to get pre-existing claims paid for in a fraudulent manner. All statements on our mail piece are true and accurate. Despite the fact that we are trying to get your feedback to be a better company, you resort to calling us stupid and belittling our company. We will take you off our mailing list, but we don't consider this complaint valid or productive.

Customer Response • May 05, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Also received a scam letter about our home warranty expiring, and unfortunately fell for it since we were overwhelmed with other issues at the time. Our home warranty was with a different company with similar name. This is a scam business or they have very unethical practices at the least.

US Home Guard Response • Apr 20, 2020

There is not enough information provided to look you up in our system. I would like to find out if you were mailed an advertisement and/or purchased a policy from us. Then I can find out why you were mailed. We are certainly not a scam business. We have no way of knowing that you purchased from someone else without you letting us know. Please forward your details, so that I can find out what happened here.

My fiance received a letter in the mail from this company stating that our home warranty was going to expire. She was on the phone for awhile with a pushy sales man, that lied to her multiple times and added undo stress on someone during a time like this. Luckily she was smart enough to realize your horrible customer service representative was trying to get over on her. By the way our warranty is not in her name so obviously what your company sent in the mail was a lie. As I have seen your response to the last negative review, yes we still have the mail and if you would like to see it we can meet at the office of the Revdex.com and you can explain to all of us why you would prey on people in such an uncertain time. I only gave you a one star because there is nothing less.

US Home Guard Response • Apr 01, 2020

Can you remember the name of the sales representative? We do not allow our employees to behave in that manner and would like to make sure that we provide the best service possible. Thank you for your communication and we look forward to improving our service with your help.

received a FINAL notice from us home guard using the name of my MORTGAGE COMPANY ....it is worded and the form is made to appear your mortgage company/insurance coverage will lapse if you don't contact them within 10 days...I am always on the watch for scams thru the mail but I had to read this one a few times to understand they are not associated with my mortgage company or insurance company in any way....I am sure many wont understand that.....what a horrible thing to do in this time of pandemic

US Home Guard Response • Mar 25, 2020

I'm having trouble finding you in our system. Can you please forward a copy of the mail advertisement that you received?

Threatening Letter
mail that had all our and mortgage holder info etc. It was worded threateningly,"FINAL ATTEMPT"and "EXTREMELY URGENT" and "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE""FINAL NOTICE" appeared to directly effect our mortgage and if not carefully read it seemed as though it was connected to our mortgage holder and/or the government. I believe it is a way to scam/frighten older senior people into buying their Home Coverage.I was scared to death until I reread the letter and realized it was just a sales pitch..

Desired Outcome

No more contact and stop them from scaring the elderly

US Home Guard Response • Apr 01, 2020

We stand by the statements of our advertisement, as an aging home is more likely to have problems as it gets older. We DO have a stringent mailing campaign, as we cannot wait for people to get our mail and then wait until something breaks to call us back and try to get a pre-existing repair covered. We will, however, take you off of our mailing list.

I just purchased a home and am getting inundated with mail from insurances, etc. US Home Guard is the worst. The all caps FONAL NOTICE letters I keep receiving states that the property's home warranty (my address) secured by (Loan Financer), may be expiring.

Please Call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU X-XXX-XXX-XXXX

This is very misleading - getting people to connect with you thinking that they missed something very important in and after the purchase of a home.

I have gotten so angry with this letter from the US Home Guard (received several times now)thinking of how misleading and how many new, young homeowners were tricked by this.

Very sneaky - If you can't get business in a professional manner then perhaps rethink what you are doing.

I cannot even make a copy because it's on green paper...

Desired Outcome

Modification/discontinuance of There should be a law against this. It's just above SCAM law!!!

US Home Guard Response • Mar 12, 2020

We apologize if our mail piece caused you frustration and we are happy to take you off our mailing list.

Customer Response • Mar 17, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
You are taking me off your list. Well, what about everyone else that is erroneously made fearful from this mailing, forcing them to contact you for more information? You do not have the right to produce fear in someone on purpose all in the hopes of making money for yourself. No, I am not satisfied with your response!

US Home Guard Response • Mar 19, 2020

I appreciate your communication. To help you to better understand it's important to know that we send out mail to many states and are required to have approval from some of them, such as Florida. We model those same advertisements in other states that don't require this, just to be safe. We have taken the proper steps to insure that we get a response from the mail, but stay above board with all statements made in that advertisement. We rarely get complaints, but it does happen from time to time. Again, we will make sure that you don't receive them in the future.

Customer Response • Mar 23, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I will not accept any response you give until you change your marketing scheme. It is a scam! Scam built on fear.
