The sales rep that came out to do the estimates and loan contract left out a key peice of the project, notably the reason we're doing the remodel at all, the subflooring damaged by a leak. We scrounged to get the project at 15k so we can afford the loan payment. Low and behold a contractor comes out and I find out not only is the subflooring repair not on the estimate, the sq ft of flooring is wrong and it's got sink faucets instead of shower heads (vanity was going to be untouched by this project).
The boss lady calls me and first thing out her mouth is we're going to start from scratch.... so your not even going to try to make this right? Your just going to throw it all away and start over like this huge mess up didn't happen? Like y'all didn't help me take out a credit line on a project estimate that wasn't accurate and btw, I asked to see it several times, was refused based on proprietary something, but had he shown me maybe it would've been caught. She says it's obvious I can't be made happy when she didn't even try! All I asked was for a sales person who actually knows what their doing and a contractor to come out (which was already scheduled for Friday so I guess that's cancelled to?) To give me real prices instead of half a quote.
Moral of the story, if they mess up they're just going to trash your project instead of making it right. Good thing nothing had started yet, God knows how they would've screwed us over had the project actually gotten started.
The process began smoothly as Home Depot Home Services referred us to US Bath for our project to remodel 2 bathrooms. Majority of work was done in 4 days with 2 of their "best crews" (project began on 3/27/18). It quickly went downhill from there as a watch was discovered missing right after, then 3 hats were discovered missing - all in a room that no one should have accessed. This was reported immediately to Project Manager (Dan) and we were told this had never happened before and we couldn't prove it - basically calling us liars (this was the same reaction we received when reporting the missing items again to the office). After that there was a lack of communication from the office to schedule our final touch ups. We took time off work to wait on multiple appointments that no one showed up to and if we did not try and follow up with them - they were not calling us. With the amount of money that it cost for this project and Salesman Jason sold us on their trustworthiness and quality of work - they sure don't seem to care or display trustworthiness!
We cannot recommend US Bath for your project after our experience and the way were treated after reporting our problems and theft in our home.
Our experience with US Bath systems was a good one. They did an excellent job, were prompt, and thorough. I would definetly recommend them.
Thank you, Jim! We hope you are enjoying your new bathroom!
Satisfied with work and very pleased with the post job clean up
Thank you, Dan! We hope you are enjoying your new bathroom!
The bathroom is beautiful and it is in line with my expectations. The contractors were all very nice and did quality work. Showed up as expected and kept thing clean after each days work.
The timeline got extended from the original estimate because the shower door was't standard Home depot size. I had to wait until the tile work was done to get the shower door contractor to measure. It was about 8 days later that it got installed. The demo work created some extra work for me as it knocked some tiles from a wall in an adjacent bathroom. It also caused a leak in that bathrooms water supply which I had to fix.
Very happy with the shower update and overall experience.
Thank you, Shannon!
We had our master bathroom totally remodeled by U.S. Bath Systems, working through Home Depot. They replaced our spa tub with a large walk-in shower with glass walls and doors. The tile floor was replaced. For the shower walls, their agent originally suggested some one-piece panels but we wanted ceramic tile on the shower walls and floors. I picked out the tile I wanted at The Tile Shop and they coordinated everything with U.S. Bath personnel. We had our old shower turned into a closet. We had our vanity cabinet made by someone else. Price-wise, the remodel ended up costing about the same as two bids we got from independent contractors, but both of them were too busy to redo our bathroom for months. Everyone working for and with U.S. Bath were very personable, responded to our concerns quickly, and their work was top quality. I would recommend them.
Thank you, Teri! We hope you are enjoying your new bathroom!
The whole experience was very positive. Everyone made sure I was satisfied with everything they did. The installers worked hard and were very professional. I was very pleased with the whole process and my bathroom is beautiful.
Thank you, Mary! We are so happy you are enjoying your new bathroom!
We are very happy with our new shower. There were several issues that we asked be addressed and they were.
Very professional. Answered all my questions and even came out in person after the job was completed to address my questions. Great service.
Thank you, Jason - we appreciate your feedback!
Overall the company was good to work with. The sales person that came.out to our house was extremely nice and professional and really strived to get us options and financing we were comfortable with. The install crew was the same 2-3 people everyday, which was nice! The main install guy was amazing, super friendly and willing to answer our questions. The second install guy left cigarette butts outside out house and in our toilet. We did have a few minor nicks and scuffs on our countertops and walls from the installation process.
We did have to follow up with the company as we're still waiting for our final inspection almost 7 months later. We had one of our surrounds bubble up from the wall and they came out in a timely manner and repaired it. Communication was ok, not great. The bathroom quality seems good. Overall a good company, but I'm not sure if recommend them to family or friends.
very pleased with quality of supplies, the work done. The amount of time it took. The workers were above and beyond words as far as cleanliness, and friendliness as well as working around 2 handicap people acomadating needs. One of the best remodeling expierenced we have had. I would recommend them to any one
Thank you, Charles! We are so happy you are enjoying your new bathroom!
We are totally thrilled with the work that US Bath Systems did on our bathroom remodel. They were on time, the work was absolutely perfect, the workers were very nice and cleaned up the work site completely. And they were done sooner than we expected. The quality of the materials was excellent. Every thing that we ordered was on the truck and in pristine condition. We are so happy with the new bathroom.
We appreciate the review, Denise. Thank you!
We appreciate the review, Denise. Thank you!
Overall, we would give US Bath Systems a mixed review on our bathroom-remodeling project.
Aside from a few minor remaining flaws, the end result was a success and turned out as expected. However, as detailed below, we had to point out some problems during the project that needed attention. Ideally, US Bath Systems would have caught these without us having to point them out and push for a solution.
Theirs was not the lowest bid, but we were willing to pay more in hopes that the job would be done correctly and with high quality. Also, believing that Home Depot would stand behind the result was an added plus.
One oddity: We had assumed that because we were working with Home Depot we would be able to choose from products offered by Home Depot for the remodel. However, during the sales process, we were discouraged from doing so, and at one point, the US Bath Systems sales rep told we could choose products only from a small set of catalogs she presented. We thought it odd at the time, but were able to find products that worked for us. Later, when speaking with an associate at a Home Depot store, she told us that we should have been able to choose Home Depot products, and that the subcontractor should have ordered them for us. We’re not sure who is correct.
POSITIVES
- The project was completed within the promised time frame.
- The project was completed without any additional charges.
- For the most part, those doing the work were friendly and courteous. They showed up when promised, and kept us informed of progress.
NEGATIVES
- We were concerned that the acrylic shower floor pan being offered would flex when stepped on. They assured us that it would be very solid and would not flex. After the part arrived, we tested it prior to installation as it rested on the basement floor. Sure enough, it was very solid with no flex. However, after the pan was glued in place on the cement slab that the project manager (PM) had poured the previous day, it flexed a lot. The center of the pan, near the drain, did not even touch the cement below with a full person’s weight applied; there was a space of more than 1/2 inch between the center of the pan and the cement below. This was confirmed by removing the pan (fortunately, the glue had not yet set) and observing that the applied glue had not even made contact with both surfaces. Nevertheless, the PM claimed that it was done correctly, and pushed back. Fortunately, after some debate, it was agreed that the builder would pour cement leveler to raise the surface beneath the pan and make it level, to provide adequate support for the pan. This indeed completely solved the problem; the pan is solid with no flex.
- After the plumbers told us they were done and had left, we noticed that the shower valve handle extended out much too far, by almost an inch. The PM told us it was installed per the manufacturer’s spec, but sent out a plumber to look at it. The plumber agreed that there was a problem and that it was not installed correctly. He was able to correct the problem by enlarging the hole made for the valve and, through the enlarged hole, chiseled and drilled away some of the wood 2x4 on which the valve was mounted. This was not an optimal solution, but he was able to make the valve handle look much better.
- Also after the plumbers had left we later noticed that the two faucet shutoff valves they had installed under the sink were leaking. The plumbers came back the next day, confirmed the problem, and replaced these leaking valves with others that they said were higher quality. It was unclear why they installed low-cost, low-quality valves in the first place.
- Floor protection and cleanup was at times sub-par. For example, during some cement demolition we had to ask twice that the clay tile floor in the adjacent hallway be protected against the very abrasive concrete dust tracked by the workers’ shoes. We even put down some of our own cardboard as protection. The electrician left bits of plaster, dust, and wire scraps on the laundry room floor.
Comfortable, tells everything you can do & the cost for all. Very kind & respectable. Told others about them, sharing my experience
Thank you, Shirley! We enjoyed working with you and love the choices you made for your new bathrooms!
I was referred to US Bath Systems who works for Home Depot by a coworker of mine for my upstairs master bathroom. Before they came out I was a bit hesitant to work with them due to a few of the negative comments on the Revdex.coms website but my friend said she got a really good deal due to one of their promotions and did really good work with her project. I had three other contractors come out to the house prior to US Bath Systems. Well I had one of them come to my home to give me a quote and it was a very pleasant experience to say the least. The designers name was Jacob and he was very professional. I even told him of the negative reviews I read and he said the company had let go a few of their salesman and were under new management. I thought it was just sales talk but he really did a great job and I felt like he really listened to what I needed and didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need or ask for. He was very informative and even noticed some mold growth in my bathroom due to small cracks in my tile that I hadn’t noticed nor did the other two contractors that came before him. He explained the whole process and how they were going to fix everything up to code. He had samples of all of his products which really helped me feel confident in the quality of what I was buying. When we got to the price it was a little bit higher than the other two quotes I got (one contractor never even sent his) but he did offer me a discount that got the price right in the middle of the other two quotes I got. After a week they were out doing last measurements and going over each step and all of the products I picked out. I felt like they cared about me and my project every step of the way. The final project turned out beautifully and I couldn’t be happier. From the estimate to the workers they were very professional and courteous. They even helped me with sealing my countertops in the kitchen at no cost.
Overall a positive experience. Everything went smoothly.
