Do not use this company,I find them to be very dishonest and unethical in their business practices. They came out to give me an estimate on repairing my refrigerator computer board. The technician told us he had to replace both of the computer boards and not just one and that it would cost me $750.I had a feeling he was lying and scamming,so I called another company who immediately said it was just one computer board and they fixed it for half the price $370.US Appliance Repair charged my elderly in-laws $90 just to give us an estimate which only took a few minutes and they misdiagnosed the problem by saying they had to replace both computer boards instead of the one. This practice is very fraudulent.Only use companies that give free estimates as the ones that don't are looking to get paid without doing the repairs and they don't even care about doing the right thing and earning the job or repair. It is a waste of time and money to use this company.
Refund Refund the $90 they charged my elderly in-laws.
I apologize for how Mr. feels but everything he explained is far from the reality. I understand he wasn't there when we went to his property to help him with his refrigerator, but his parents who contacted us for our service were recommended by a happy customer of ours.
We have been in the appliance repair helping people for more than many other service companies have. We care for our reputation that's why we everything in our possibility to deliver quality service to our customers. To call our company a scammer I feel like this is not right especially when you're not around during the time of interaction.
Below is what our technician told Mr. parents...
After the technician got done diagnose the problem, he explains to the parents that refrigerator needs one part (the control board), he presents to them total estimate to replace that particular part. Then he explains to the parents that the refrigerator has two electronic control boards (one being the dispenser control board) "I am not saying both boards are bad, said the technician but from experience, there has been many times in the past where I replaced the one of the boards and the refrigerator still won't work even after following the manufacture's instructions to program the control board because the new board is not compatible with the old dispenser board."
He told them because that happened more than often, he feels like they should be quoted for both in case that happens they're at least aware of any additional cost involves to bring the refrigerator back to its normal operations. The parents told the technician that's not their house they're here to help their children who went on vacation and that's when the technician asks to speak the owner (Mr.) so the technician can explain the same to him. They got him on the phone and he explained the above mentioned to Mr.. The technician told them that they don't have to replace both boards at the same time, I am just letting you know because if after replacing the defective control board fridge works. Great! If not, at least you know what to expect, said the technician."
The technician has been in his respective field for over a decade, worked as a refrigeration specialist for over five working on the same related products. He said that to the client to avoid future issue because it had happened in the past where the client became upset because nobody told them about additional cost from the beginning.
