The business sold pizza vouchers in March of 2019, good for one pizza at this location. These vouchers did not have an expiration date on them. In January of 2020, the business owner decided to stop honoring these vouchers completely, providing customers no communication or posted notice, and offering customers nothing in exchange.
I believe it's unethical and potentially illegal for the business owner to refuse to honor the vouchers without proper notification provided to voucher holders. The business is simply pocketing the money that was collected for the vouchers. Without an expiration date listed, a customer should reasonably believe that the voucher will be valid for at least a year.
