Review: I took a shirt for dry cleaning and they gave me another shirt which was not mine. I gave them back that shirt and they cannot find mine. I have been going back and forth and today the front counter lady told me that the owner is offering to give me $20.00 for my lost shirt. This shirt originally cost me over $100.00, but I did not keep the receipt as I never thought I would have this issue.
The reason I am contacting you is because it does not seem fair to me that I should take less than a quarter of the shirt value due to a poor service. The front counter lady gave me the telephone of the owner, whom she called [redacted], and I have left her messages but she has not called me back. Her telephone number is ([redacted]) [redacted]
Is there anything else that I can do?Desired Settlement: A fair solution to this issue, if possible.

Shouldn't I have had your support, they would have not responded the way they did.

Review: 1ST Request sent via 1st Class Mail - May 10, 20152nd Request sent via 1st Class Mail May 18, 2015From:Name & Mailing Address RedactedTo:University Cleaners3365 Rosecrans St. Suite ASan Diego, CA 92110&University Cleaners (Hdqts)450 Fletcher ParkwayEl Cajon, CA 92019Dear Madam or Sir:Five (5) of my shirts have torn during processing at the Rosecrans store since beginning of year. I have pointed out to Clerk at store. She referred me to [redacted]. The shirts are not able to be fixed or even cut to short-sleeve.The shirts in question are both Brooks Brothers and Nautica brands. The retail values are more than $40. I feel University Cleaners is at fault. The shirts are inspected at time of service, by both myself and Clerk at store. Never have I heard that any of the shirts I presented for service have been torn. The Clerk at the store also looks at the shirts during the final hanging process.Considering depreciation, I am seeking fifteen dollars in damages for each shirt, in store credit. This total is $75I have been a customer at three (3) of your stores weekly for about ten years. The service has been very good, not sure why my shirts are suddenly being damaged, after all these years. I would like to remain a happy customer. Please contact me quickly to discuss this matter thx,Desired Settlement: Store Credit per Letter Above

Review: I brought 4 coats and 1 dress to University Cleaners on 1/6/2015. I paid for the items to be cleaned and was told they would be ready the next day. On 1/7, one coat was missing. The lady behind the counter said it wasn't ready yet, to come back tomorrow. On 1/8, the same lady at University Cleaners said the coat didn't show up. I asked if it was missing, she said she didn't know and really didn't seem concerned. She then made a phone call and asked the other person on the phone if they had a black coat. She mostly spoke in another language so I didn't understand the entire conversation. She said the other location that does the cleaning will send over "a black coat" that they had to see if it was mine. I showed her a picture of my coat before leaving. She called me later and said the coat didn't look like mine, could I wait until next week? She didn't seem concerned in the least that my coat was lost.Desired Settlement: Pay for the price of the coat, shipping, and dry cleaning fee. I just bought the coat on Ebay and haven't not even worn it yet.
Review: Three weeks ago my wife took 19 shirts (work and casual) to have them laundered. The next day my wife picked up 19 shirts (counted the hangers in the protective plastic cover) I usually don't remove the plastic until I needed wear a particular shirt.
Three days later I wanted to wear a particular Hawaiian shirt and noticed that it shirt was missing, in it's place was a shirt that I did not recognize.
My wife went back the next day and pleasantly told the workers of the problem. The lady at the counter (did not get her name) said to wait 2 days and maybe the shirt would turn up.
A few days had past so my wife went back to the cleaners to inquire. The person at the counter had changed her story, she said to wait another two more weeks hoping that the shirt would be returned.
Two weeks had past - so my wife went back to the cleaners.. the lady at the counter said that the shirt has not been returned. I asked for the managers name to see whether we could be compensated...she refuse..the only thing she did was pointed me to a poster in front counter that stated "not responsible for missing items and items left over 30 days would be given to charity"
In my opinion the $44.95 shirt may have been stolen or damaged and replacing the shirt with another makes it very conspicuous.
My complaint is not about the shirt, its about the "don't care attitude", rude and unprofessional service they provide.
I am sadden that my wife and I have been a loyal customer of University Cleaners in La Mesa for the past 13 years and it had to come down to this. I will never do business with University Cleaners of La Mesa again!Desired Settlement: 1. Refund of $44.95 and a apology.
2. Customer service training
