Below is what I wrote to the company.
RE: Prime Link Travel Medical Insurance ***
To Whom It May Concern,
I want to bring your attention to a matter of unfairness on the part of your company.
I have just returned from a vacation in the USA.
When I was purchasing travel insurance I discussed with the agent that I may return on the Friday or Saturday and she advised me that I could get a refund for the Saturday if I returned early and told me what number to call on my return. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME LISTEN TO THE TAPE!
I debated if I should pay until Friday and add the extra day if necessary but when I was told that I could get the extra day refunded, I decided to pay for the Saturday.
Last night (Friday) the first thing I did after getting in the house was to phone that number only to find out that the office was closed so I phoned the other number and spoke to *** who offered to connect me to the other department but advised me that they were closed.
First thing this morning I called only to be told that the credit for the one day for both of these policies was not enough for them make a refund.
HERE IS THE THING. YOUR AGENT SHOULD HAVE ADVISED ME THAT NO REFUND WOULD BE MADE BECAUSE OF SOME RULE ABOUT THE MINIMUM AMOUNT THAT WILL BE REFUNDED INSTEAD OF MISLEADING ME. OBVIOUSLY, HAD I BEEN GIVEN THE PROPER INFORMATION, I WOULD HAVE ADDED THE EXTRA DAY LATER IF I NEEDED IT.
This leaves a very bad taste.
I am asking you to refund the amount due for the extra day for both of these policies and I am asking you to advise your agents to stop misleading your customers by giving the wrong information.

Refund Refund the amount owing for both policies and advise your Prime Link agents not to tell customers that a refund will be made for extra days not used if in fact no refund will be made because of some minimum requirement that was not disclosed at the time of the discussion with the agent. It is not helpful if this missing information is buried in the fine print that is received AFTER the point of sale.
Customer made complaint to us over weekend, we spoke to him on the next Monday the 17th of December and resolved his complaint.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I was pleased with the professional way that my complaint was handled. It was swift and reasonable and the person who contacted me took responsibility for the problem and solved it without making me jump through hoops. I have not actually checked to see if the refund has been made to my credit card but I expect it will be fine.
I do hope that they have also informed their agents that they should give more accurate information - namely that when they promise that there will be a refund of unused days that there is a minimum requirement.
I am very impressed with the actions taken by the Revdex.com too. I was not really expecting that my little issue would even get a reply. Bravo!
