Review: I entered into a verbal contract with this mover on 10/21/15 and gave them a 25% deposit of $295 to move household goods from Long Island, New York to Colorado Springs, CO. I never signed and returned the contract. The move is for my elderly father-in-law from a NY assisted living facility to an assisted living facility here in Colorado. My husband decided to go with another company, so I promptly (within 24 hours) contacted [redacted] on 10/22/15 and cancelled the shipping order. I was told that my refund would be processed without issue. I have sent several emails and made several phone calls without success, as emails and calls are not responded to. I would like acknowledgement of the cancelled verbal order and a full refund of my deposit.Desired Settlement: Refund of my 295.00 deposit and acknowledgement of cancellation.

Response:

Customer did not cancel appropriately but refund was still given to her, she needs to contact her bank!

Consumer

Response:

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]I have received notification from my bank that I have been credited the $295, but this was due to me opening a dispute case. I did cancel appropriately, and I was assured by the company that I would be refunded without issue.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me as long as I receive a refund for services that were not rendered.

Great experience with United States moving systems. They have completely changed my view on moving companies. Fast, efficient and very professional. I was blown away at how efficient they were in moving everything. All my stuff arrived unbroken and properly protected. NO scratches on the furniture. They double check all items moved to the new home. So hard working and so professional. Couldn't ask for more. Highly recommend and would definitely use them again.

Review: I paid $1635 to have my belongings moved to MO. Movers could not get my bed apart, so I had to drive to [redacted] to get them the proper tools. I was told by [redacted], customer rep, that my things would be delivered on Tuesday June 30th. I was working a camp for didaed children and left early to drive the 13 hours to meet the movers. I called movers on Tuesday when they did not show up. I was told my stuff was not going to be delivered. I asked when it would come..I was told 'Mam I cannot tell you that information.' They left my number for dispatch to call me, but they never did. I called again July 1st. Again I was told they did not know when my things would be delivered. They refused to provide a date. I requested to speak to a manager as I am in newbcity, with no bed and don't have what I need to start my new job. Manager never returned my call. I was promised if manager did not call, someone else would with a date. That did not happen. I called again July 2nd and requested to speak to manager. They said manager was not available. I told the woman that I need to know when my things are being delivered and again was told they don't know. Woman went on to hang up on me. Still have no received a call from manage and have no idea where my stuff is or when it is coming. I am a critical care doctor, and do not have my medical supplies to start work Monday. I was promised by [redacted] delivery on Tuesday June 30th or I would have chosen a different mover. They are rude, irresponsible, and useless in providing any answers. Cannot get manager or dispatch on phone.Desired Settlement: I need to have my items delivered ASAP. I also feel I should be refunded due to failure to deliver on time and poor customer service.

Business

Response:

First our men come full equipped with all tools, Our reps here are not allowed to guarantee any delivery date, we give all of our customer's a time frame which is that we have 21 business days to deliver their belongs from there first original delivery date that she provided to us. Customer has been able to always speak to a manager, we don't allow any of our reps to hang up on a customer. We inform all of our customers that we may take sometime to deliver their items so to please take all important documents with them and anything that is important that they will need prior to receiving their delivery. Customer has already received her deliver. Also let me inform you that when it is a holiday weekend our man also have off just like every one else. Thank you

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

The customer rep did not tell me anything about a 21 day timeframe. I was told they would be delivered on a specific day. If I knew this, why would I be filing a complaint? Furthermore, a manager was not available. I called for a week straight requesting to speak to one and never received call back. Also, business may say their reps cannot hang up on customer but they did. My things were delivered yesterday. I was charged another $230 and everything is severely damaged. Even the men completing the job noticed the damages and said the original men did not take things apart appropriately. In reference to the company saying their men have all tools..please ask the men who came about the tools. They did not have them. I had to leave men at my house and drive to [redacted] to buy metric Allen keys.

I have attached pictures of damages..although it will only allow you to attach so many. Items damaged: DresserTv stand Speaker (looks like it was thrown and jumped on)Desk Lamp Water damage to boxesTwo end tables

I can email more pictures. Movers themselves suggested I file complaint due to large volume of damages.

Business

Response:

Yes she was aware of the 21 business days it was clearly in the contract that she has signed. Also if there are any damages that were made by my men she can file a claim with our claims department. We record all conversations and we did not hang up on her. Thank you

Review: I was given an estimate of $895 to move my items from Brooklyn NY to GA. When the movers arrived they said that they were going to have to charge me a total of 1,000 extra. The cost included storage of merchandise and placing bubble wrap on my t.v.($300). They said that the furniture had to stay at the warehouse for at least 7 business days and if we wanted to have it delivered earlier we would have to pay extra. There was never mentioned in the contract or on the phone that there would be a penalty if I did not leave the furniture in the warehouse for a certain amount of days. They also did not give me an accurate estimate of my furniture which caused the price to go up when they arrived. I told them I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and cannot afford to pay any extra money before I made the initial deposit. A day before the delivery they said they would not deliver the merchandise and I would have to pay extra if I did not pay up front the balance that was owed. I understand that I was given an estimate and would have understood if I had to pay an extra $300 in total, but not to pay twice what the estimat is. Paying that amount tells me that she did not give me a TRUTHFUL estimate as she claimed. She never mentioned that my things HAS to go into storage for 7 days or it will be a penalty. She stated that there is 1 month storage free if needed and never mentioned that I would have to pay for SPACE in the storage unit and it is not in the contract.Desired Settlement: I would like my money to be refunded according to the contract that was broken and not a truthful estimate given.

Business

Response:

[redacted]

I have done some research into your complaint, and it has been determined these are false allegations. Our company does not store things in our warehouse for 7 day's we actually store goods for 1 month for free. We do not offer a quicker delivery for "Extra" money. Once a customer has a delivery address, we update the system and let our dispatch know the person is ready, he then schedules the delivery accordingly. There is never a promised date for delivery, nor do we charge a "penalty" what we do , however is give a person time to pay...The estimate you received was about 43 Pieces , you had double. Also, please find the estimate ATTACHED AS YOU WILL SEE THERE IS ONE MONTH FREE STORAGE AND PACKING IS NOT INCLUDED. We charge per cubic feet, the space occupied. We never received dimensions just item count. While I sympathize, with your finance I cannot change the space occupied which how we charge. You were given a senior citizen discount to help at the time of reserving your move.

Review: \\\\\\\\(1) Price issue\\\\\\\\

I used this company to move from Philadelphia, PA to Houston, TX. The quote was $1695 for 450 cf. I prepared for the money because I already knew the amount of my stuff was 300 cf at most, because we packed almost everything by ourselves and counted the number of boxes and calculated it.

But on the moving day, I had to sign the contract for the price of $2600 (for 650 cf) after 3 hours of argue (The representative didn't even see my stuff in the truck, they just tried to charge me as much as possible).

\\\\\\\(2) Delivery issue\\\\\\\

I was told they will deliver my stuff by 8th August, but I didn't have any call from them at that period.

When I called them, they says the deliver will be next week. So I asked them to deliver my stuff on August 15, and made sure that they would call me on 14th. I didn't get the call on 14th again.

So I called them and they says they cannot deliver my thing until next week. In this call they mentioned about 21 days delivery period. Until that call, no representative, nor moving stuff with whom we argued about the price, nor my quote didn't mentioned that. I checked the contract and it was mentioned on the back page. But the contract also says "Delivery no later than August 8", in front page. And if I was aware about this period, I would choose different company (maybe U-Pack). They should told me so when they gave me the quote.Desired Settlement: Please deliver my items as soon as possible.

Business

Response:

Dear Sir, Please note that the boxes used were larger then we anticipated. Also your belongings have been delivered. The first date of delivery for you may have been the 8th, you may have received your items a few days later or up to a week later, we delivered within out delivery dates. We were not late at all. We can not give customers a specific date of delivery as a number of things may happen with the truck, weight station or road. Thank you,

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:(1)I don't understand why the bigger box than you expected matters. In total, my boxes were way smaller than the quote (which was 450 c.f.)On the moving day when we argue about the price, I said my stuff should be around 300 c.f. according to my calculation. In response, your representative said "This quote was totally wrong! Our computer system has an error. So you have to pay $3500 at least!"(2)We have our boxes delivered on August 20th, so it was 12 days late, not a week late.(The first available delivery date was August 3rd, according to the contract. If we count from the date, it was SEVENTEEN DAYS LATE.)Also, we are not informed about the delivery date until the last minuites (just one day before).Because of that, my husband and I have to take sudden one day off from our work.It was very annoying. You should inform the date at least a few days before, especially when you are LATE MORE THAN A WEEK.(A week late sounds already terrible, though.)

Review: I originally contracted with Moving Network USA for my move. I had a do not exceed agreement for my order, through Moving Network USA, for an estimated move weight of 6600 lbs (Job # [redacted]). Moving Network USA contracted with US Moving Company to complete the job.

The initial weight from US Moving Company was 10020 lbs. I disputed this as my moving list was accurate (so the estimate should have been close), and I knew the approximate weight of my household goods already (Due to previously moving cross country in 2010).

I was told by Moving Network USA that they would not honor their do not exceed agreement due to the excess being more than 10% (which is not noted on the agreement), and then eventually that they disputed the accuracy of box sizes. They did state that I could have a re-weight done upon delivery.

US Moving Company placed my goods into storage after pick up and forced me to pay an additional $1500 up front otherwise they would not move my goods.

I received updated documentation from Moving Network USA on 4/2/2014 detailing my payments: deposit of $2470.00, payment at pick up of $1576.79, the payment for aforementioned overages of $1500.00, and that the total due upon delivery was $1500, unless the re-weight at delivery came out to be less than the initial weight, in which case the amount due upon delivery would be reduced accordingly. The payment for overages was deposited directly into US Moving Company’s bank account, and is reflected on the Bill of Lading and by the teller receipts enclosed.

My bill of lading has a 1st available delivery date listed at 3/8/2014, and a delivery no later than date of 4/5/2014. My goods were delivered on 5/21/2014 - 2 days shy of TWELVE weeks.

My re-weight amount was 6180 lbs. This is 420 lbs LESS than the Moving Network USA estimate, and 3840 lbs LESS than what the carrier reported at pick up. The driver refused to refund any of the delivery money, per the documentation that I was given. NEITHER company is working to refund the additional $1500 that is owed me. I have documents to substantiate all of these statements, they are attached in a file. There is also no consideration in these statements for the clothing that I had to purchase due to the delay in delivery, the hours spent defending myself on the telephone with both companies - and in some cases being spoken down to and treated very rudely, or my distress over this whole process; all of which are significant. I appreciate any assistance you can give me in investigating this matter, and hopefully getting the funds that are rightfully mine, returned to me. Sal is the dispatcher that I was working with. He was disrespectful and rude in each conversation.Desired Settlement: Per above, I am seeking a full refund of the $1500.00 that was fraudulently billed in a moving scam. The re-weight of my moving load was actually lower than the estimated weight that charges were originally based upon. My belongings were placed in storage and the company refused to move them until I paid for overages for close to 4000 reported additional pounds. They would not move my goods to participate in my DOT guaranteed re-weight until I paid the additional 1500 dollars. I have documentation from Moving network USA that I would be refunded from this 1500 dollars proportionately if the re-weight came out to less than 10020 lbs. The re-weight was 6180 lbs and my moving charges were based upon and estimate of 6600 lbs.

Review: I signed a contract with [redacted] Moving Services out of New York, NY. to move my furniture from PA. to FL. The estimate was based on 4,600 pounds. [redacted] also place in quotes (675 cu/ft) at a price of just under $2000. On the day of pick, a truck arrived 15 hours late at 9:30 pm and it was a 26ft Penske. The driver opened the back of the truck and it was over 80% full. I told him my stuff isn't going to fit in there. He said he had an order for 675 cu/ft but left and extra 100 in case. Anyway, the managed to load all my stuff. At 3:30 am in my garage, I was presented with a 4 page (8.5x11 legal) contract. The final bill was $4335.42. Since I could not reacj [redacted], I felt helpless with this 115% mark up. The driver told me to sign and initial, I ended up signing for full replacement insurance, a waiver of full replacement value and also another section as per his direction. We were exhausted, closing was later that morning and the new family was moving in the next day. When I asked the driver why so much, he said I had over 1000 cu ft plus price of stairs and packing tape and another 9% fuel surcharge on top of the 9% fuel surcharge [redacted] charged me. The driver then informed me he managed to come up with an additional 400 cu ft to accomodate my belongingsDesired Settlement: I expected to pay the $2000 [redacted] quoted me. I agree to the packing materials, they taped blankets to furniture, I don't agree with fuel surcharge of 9% for $350 (1000 cu ft at a charge of $3236.22), as [redacted] already applied a fuel surcharge of $200.84 based on the estimated 4600 pounds (cu ft) at $2,231.56. I was double dipped on the majority of the fuel surcharge. Since US Moving is following the misleading practices put in motion by [redacted], I'm seeking overcharge of fuel as follows: 9% of $3236.22 should have been $291.26 - $200.84 tacked on by [redacted] equals $90.24. US Moving collected $350 from me by not properly calculating it on the bill, so I'm owed $259.76. I'm also contesting the 1000 cu ft. the driver, who's 26ft Penske was nearly full, initially said he left an extra 100 cu ft for my stuff after I express concern about limited space. I did have one extra office chair, a bar stool, a couple moderate rugs and 5 extra boxes, so 775 x $3.24/ft=$2511, refund of $725.22

Revdex.com,

[redacted] was aware of everything on the contract and how much he was paying and he had agreed. Our contact had plenty of contact with [redacted] after the move regarding a claim that he was making which now the claim is through and closed and he received the money for it. Now, after the claim is closed a complaint is made out of no where? Mr. [redacted] had a discount on his estimate of 193.86. I will be more than happy to fax over the paperwork. Mr. [redacted] must be mistaken because looking over his contract he was only charged one time for 9% gas. Any further questions please feel free to contact the office at 1-855-840-1700

Review: I hired a moving company through First Call Movers,Inc. First Call movers gave me an estimate over the phone with the exact number of boxes and items to be moved. This included complete packing and additional insurance of $50,000. The quote was $3968.11 After the truck was loaded the man came in with the bill and inventory to be signed with a price of $7144. I rebutted and tried to reach [redacted] at First Call Movers who said he would be my point person, and of course he was not available. I never agreed to a new estimate and signed no papers before the truck was loaded. I was ripped off and backed into a corner. I know this is against the law. The broker ,First Call Movers, customer service agent, [redacted] has now told me that they have had trouble with this company and I should call move rescue.com. They have not delivered my furniture and apparently they will not unload until I pay them. I don't want anyone else to have this happen to them. Thank you.Desired Settlement: To pay the estimated amount .

Business

Response:

Revdex.com,

The customer was right the moving estimate quote was $3,968.11 including complete packing. Although, after the truck was loaded the inventory list was different than expected. The expected cubic feet was 735 cf but after loading the truck the cubic feet was 15,050. Since the cubic feet was increased without us knowing until we loaded the truck we had to charge extra not only for the extra cubic feet , but for the complete packing for the extra furniture. Any further questions please feel free to contact me via email or at the office 201-850-1700.

Review: We used the Movers services and did not get the full billing for the entire amount paid of 2400$.

The services used date 06/20/2015. We try to keep on calling and eMailed them. no reply. Bill is very much needed for us to so on the [redacted] statement and for my company.Desired Settlement: Need the Bill from the Business for the full paid amount of 2400$.

Review: This company was hired to move our belongings from NY to OH. They came a day late. After loading the truck they informed me the bill would be $2700 higher than agreed. This in itself is illegal. Any changes in pricing is to be prior to the loading of the belongings. (As per the DOT) They then reduced it to $400 higher and said either I accept this or they would not remove my belongings from the truck. I called the DOT and was told to file a complaqint and once I received my belongings to file a civil case against them. I was also informed by the DOT at that time they have had numerous compaints filed. When they arrived in OH the driver had no one here to assist so my wife and I had to unload 80% of the truck. They provided no invenetory list as also is required for interstate transportation. Most of our furniture was damaged in the move and accorcing to tgeir contract was to be re-embursed at.60 per lb. We have weighed the items and came out to be 900 lbs. They stole my alluminum 2 wheeler.Desired Settlement: I am requesting the following and will take leagl action if not handled within the next 20 days.

1: $350.00 for the unloading of the truck

2: .60 per lb as per their contract. 900lbs @ .60 = $540.00

3: Replacment fof my 2 wheeler $295.00

4: Return of the stolen money from the raising of the price after truck was loaded $400.00

When United States Moving was referring to checking the storage in Ohio we did not mean that we rented the storage for Mr. [redacted], but on the moving estimate Mr. [redacted] had his merchandise delivered to [redacted] located in Columbus, Ohio. Also, three hours away from our destination we contacted Labor Ready and they send the men over to the destination. Any questions please feel free to contact via email or at the office at 855-840-1700. Plus, we have not received any messages lately regarding this complaint. I am rejecting this response because:

They have broken the law by:

1: loading the truck and then raising the price.

2: Not inventorying the items for an interstate transport.

In addition, we have called them and first call and no-one has returned a call about all the damage, the fact that #1 and #2 above still have not been addressed by them.

They still have not addressed the missing 2 wheeler or when they are going to make right the damage which was verified by their driver and signed stating so.

Revdex.com,

[redacted] had an estimate provided for $5,189.06 that was his total moving estimate that he was aware of. Now, the estimate that I see her was changed to a flat price of $5,000

so he didn't even pay the full price.

The deposit was for 1,672.27 and then a payment of 2,000 which is a total of 3,672.27 and then another payment of 1,327.73

If requested I'll be more than happy to scan the document.

I am rejecting this response because:

They still ruined many items and have made no call nor attempt to settle the damage done. They Stole my 2 wheeler.

In addition my wife and I had to unload most of the truck on location in OH.

Review: My move was from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, scheduled on June 12th, with an estimate of $2000 for 500 cubic feet.

I received a call from their dispatch on June 11th around 4:30 pm informing me that the pick up with be around 3 pm on the 12th. I had everything packed and ready to go on the 12th, but no one called at 3 pm. No one called until I called them on 4 pm. I was told that their crew cannot make the pickup on the 12th but it can be the first thing in the morning on the 13th. I had 2 train tickets for my wife and I to go to NYC for a flight on the 14th morning. I bought the last train because I knew the pick up would probably not be on time and we had to leave enough time cushion. Apparently, that cushion was not thick enough to cover an extra day. I had no choice but to reassign my train tickets which cost me about $40.

At about 7:00 am on the 13th, I received a call stating he is the pick up crew driver and his truck broke down on the way to Philadelphia. He said he would call me back later and let me know if he can get his truck fixed. Hours later, I called the driver's number, and no one ever answered. Starting from 9 am, I kept calling their office and leaving messages. Around 10 am, the booking lady answered and said she would contact dispatch and call me back in 10 minutes. I called back in 40 minutes, and no one answered. I called between 10 to 20 times through the rest of the day and finally got one answered around 3 pm. I was told the pickup crew would be here at no later than 5 pm. I was so worried because my train tickets were that night again. If they broke their promise again, not only I cannot catch the train that night, I cannot catch the flight on the 14th morning. I had no choice but wait. The pickup crew showed up at 6 pm, in a Budget rental truck with no uniform.Desired Settlement: Describing what happened needs more than 2000 characters so this complaint is only about the cost for rescheduling my train tickets twice.

I am expecting $80 compensation for rescheduling my tickets because they missed their pickup window twice, and missed by almost a day each time.

Response:

Dear [redacted] My sincerest apologies on your move scheduled for June 12th, and the miscommunication with our sales representative. We strongly suggest to our customers to not book a flight the same day of pick up date. We cannot guarantee a pick up date or time, we usually give a window of time. Some moves however do take somewhat longer then we anticipate because customers do not know how many items they actually have until their move date and it affects scheduling. We also take into consideration traffic or problems that may occur, as it did with the truck breaking down. When the truck breaks down, trust it is frustrating for the customer and for us. We try to have a professionalism from beginning to end with all our relocating customers as we have return customers and when things go wrong we do try to address it as soon as possible, that being the rental truck. The representative is in the office and does try to stay in contact with our drivers, of course there are instances where there isn't any reception.Again, my apologies for the delay with your relocation needs. Sincerely,[redacted]

My flight was not on the same day as pick up, not even the next day of pick up but 2 days after.Dispatch asked me after the first failed pick up if I still wanted to move. Business

Response:

Dear [redacted]Unfortunately, our company does not issue refunds or compensation for travel arrangements, this is something the travel agent may help you with. While I do understand your frustration with the delay in picking up your goods, we also were inconvenienced by our failing truck. We too had to endure an expense, as I see the Budget truck you mentioned seems to bother, but that truck most likely was rented to full-fill your move. My dispatch did offer at the time a refund for your move, in which he then did all in his power to move you accordingly. I have never spoken to you and I wish you would have called the office and asked to speak to a manager. I would of loved to speak to you personally, instead via email. Again, I apologize but we do not issue refunds for missing flights, train or any means of travel. I would like to mention, I am in the office from 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday, Saturday hours are from 10am to 3pm, I regret that we did not get to speak since I like to personally speak to customers in regards to complaints and compliments.Thank you

Review: My job # was [redacted]. I have pictures of the damage that was done to my goods. I also am missing some of my goods. Here is the list of damaged goods:Dryer-Scratched and dented.Washer-Scratched all over.Light-Bent, will not stand up straight.Bookshelf-Not usable. Leans and backing dos not stay on due to damage.Bed Post-A huge gouge out of the wood as you can see in the picture.Dresser-Big gouge out of my wooden dresser as you can see in the picture.Frame-As you can see in the picture the glass on the frame is broken.Frame #2-Glass on frame broken.Glass-Glass broken in 2 pieces.Fan-Lost the lock on my fan, had to put platic cups on the fan so it will stand up.Smashed boxes-Boxes were smashed Box-Liquid was put into a box and it leaked all over the goods inside the box.Unfilled Box-There were 2 items in the box 1 blanket and a hat. They did not even pack all of my goods. I had to finance another trip to NC to get the rest of them. So why were there boxes not filled if they left stuff. This is how this company treats customers goods. They don't care. I wonder how they would feel if someone did this to their goods. There is NO customer service they told me that my mountain bike that was missing was in a warehouse and that it would be mailed to me. I still have NOT received anything.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for the damage and the missing goods.

Review: I hired this moving company to move me from NY to Texas in June of 2015. This company overcharged my credit card and After giving them a month to correct the price difference overcharge of $162 I had to go through my credit card company to obtain the money they overcharged me, in addition to that they lost several of my items in the move and damaged my property and I've seen zero compensation in regards to my lost/stolen and damaged property and when I spoke to a representative of their "insurance company" they were not responding to calls and letters from them to pay not only my claim but two other sl customers claims and at this point since they aren't responding and not authorizing the claims I'm out a television, kitchenaid mixer, plates and cooking utensils in addition to my treadmill being damaged.Desired Settlement: I want to be refunded since they refuse to acknowledge the calls and letters from the "insurance company" that they hired

Not only reserved with our company but also reserved with [redacted] Relocation and [redacted] Moving, she ended up cancelling and calling us back to keep her reservation because she needed a specific date which only we could have provided for her! She also called us and emailed about a charge on her credit card, she was told to call the other company she booked with. She then started to complain about discounts and her husband is disabled. She seems to not want to pay for service, as she also did a charge back which we disputed. Mrs. [redacted] is not owed anything. She has contacted our claims office which is CSI and they will handle any damaged or lost goods. Review: We hired United States Moving Systems for a long distance move from Philadelphia, PA to St. Louis, MO at the end of July. On the day of the move, there was some damage done to the elevators within our condo complex by the movers. The condo informed us of the damages, sent us pictures, and a bill for repair. The movers refused to take responsibility for repair of the damages. We have contacted the moving company multiple times, they refuse to take ownership of the damages and we are saddled with paying the bill for the elevator damages ourselves. Additionally, they charged us an additional $900 on the day of the move despite an accurate pre-move furniture listing and after agreeing to reimburse us $200 for the misquote a month ago, they have not done so and now they refuse to respond to our repeated call or email requests.Desired Settlement: The moving company should take direct ownership of the cost of repair for the damages incurred by their movers.

They should be billed directly and should pay the condo association for the cost of repair. Or refund us for the cost of repair for damages during the move.

Pay the agreed upon refund for $200 which has been submitted in writing.

I hired United States Moving System for my move to Fl and have nothing but praise for them. They are a very organized packing and moving company and are definitely better than the previous company we hired. The last company I hired had broken a lot of my belongings and stopped answering my calls after the move was done. However with United States Moving System, I had no problem whatsoever. They were professional right from the word go. The customer service, sales offer, packing and punctuality was all A class. I'm very happy with Full Service Van Lines for all their hard work. If I ever need to move again I will definitely hire United States Moving System

Review: I received a quote from the company to move a bed, tv, couch, and 20 5 cubic feet boxes for $888. When the movers showed up to load the truck, they were an hour late. The person then informed me that the estimate provided for 286 cu ft was way too low and that I had 450-550 cu ft worth of items. I had approximately 30 boxes instead of 20, although a majority of the boxes were no where near 5 cu ft. The agent I worked with from the company also said I was way under the minimum space requirement, so I was surprised but agreed to let them load my items knowing I would have to pay a little more. After my items were loaded, the mover stated that my items were taking up 650 cu ft. Per DOT, they are not allowed to change the estimate once the items are loaded. Their contract also very specifically states that credit cards can be used to pay the 70% due at pick up. The movers would not take my credit card and forced me to pay by check. When I reported their tardiness, the totally bogus estimate, and the credit card issue to the United States Moving the agent stated "moving is hard, isn't it" When I called the next Friday to schedule my delivery date, I reiterated my complaints, and was told the owner of the company would call me. The delivery was scheduled for Saturday between 4-7. At 7:30 no one had shown up and I called United States Moving again and was given the driver of the van's phone number. I called and found out they were in another state and would not be there until 12:30am. Since it was so late, the delivery date was moved to Sunday morning, and I had to get a hotel to stay in due to the delay. I called the company back to report this and they took no responsibility for the delay and blamed the drivers saying it was their responsibility to call me. When I stated that the owner was supposed to call me, I was informed that the owner was out of the country, so I apparently was just lied to the day before. My items arrived Sunday with some damage.Desired Settlement: I would like the $120 dollars I had to spend on a hotel room due to the delays reimbursed since I was only informed of the delays after the delivery window had past and I had to call them to find out where they were. I would also like my bill calculated at the 550 cu ft originally estimated before loading, as DOT specifically states that the estimate cannot be changed once loaded, and a refund of the overage that I paid.

I also sincerely hope that anyone considering uses this company reads these complaints and reconsiders. The company is untrustworthy and has terrible customer service.

Review: I hired the company to pick up my merchandise in N.Y., on July 28, 2015, for delivery to Florida. They were to arrive between 2 to 4 at 8:30pm they arrived, loaded my belongings on the truck, and then gave me a different quote, charging me $300.00 more. They informed me that my belongings would arrive to Florida on July 31, 2015. They have not called me and have not answered my calls to inform me on my delivery. All my belongings are held hostage by this company. Please help.Desired Settlement: Due to their lack of professionalism, and the non-delivery of my belongings, I should not be billed the extra amount of $300.00. They have caused me extreme despair. Please let the public aware of this scam.

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: Bait and switch. My wife was told the total cost of move would be about 1165.00. Everything was measured and tallied for when the driver came. When the driver came, wrapped everything and loaded the truck they almost double the amount owed. (My wife did add about 5-6 boxes, but had sold several large pieces of furniture) We were stuck. Her plane left in the morning so we paid. Then the shipment came three weeks later than they said it would. Our shipment date was November 11th, but they told us we could call earlier and have it dropped off earlier. We called three weeks ago and apparently they lied. They told me on the phone they couldn’t send it earlier than the shipping date on the document. They also charged us for storage during that time. They did agree to refund the storage for a small discount, but would not answer the phone and declined the reduction when the driver arrived. In addition they lost our almost two thousand dollar rug. I have called this business about twenty times over this dispute and attempted to speak with a manager. I continue to be given the run around and they used our things as hostage for payment.Desired Settlement: Initially I wanted a discount for the delivery, but after the treatment, the lies, the run around, and lost items I will settle for no less than a deduction to the original quote for the move, plus the money to replace our rug with a brand new one or give us the money to replace it. I also want to make sure this company doesn't do this to anyone else.

Response:

Dear Sir,your initial estimate did have less items there was not a bait and switch. You were quoted on the items accordingly when inventory changes so does the move cost. I understand your frustration, but please note, your wife did not call to complain if she would have this would have been explained at that time. Notes our system clearly says her inventory may change due to some items that may or may not be sold prior to move date. We also tried to contact your wife in regards to delivery since we did not have a delivery address where she emailed us she was out of the country. We do not guarantee delivery on a specific dates as of course anything can happen during delivery. We did get a address for delivery via email on October 15th, we then scheduled the move accordingly. On our paperwork the customer did tell our foreman that they would be able to receive their goods on Novber 1st. We have21 business days after the first initial date to receive items for delivery and we were way within the time period. Thank you,

Review: Regards to the delivery of my furniture to Smyrna, TN from Bronx, NY. It's understandable that moving furniture is not always a smooth process and things happen that are unexpected and sometimes unavoidable, but a total disregard of the value of other peoples good entirely is unacceptable. The delivery staff called us with an initial time of 10-2 for the delivery beginning of the day which ultimately got pushed several times by them every couple of hours (3x) until they actually arrived late evening around 7.30 pm. On arrival they immediately demanded to be paid the money in full and in Cash without which they refused to deliver our goods. I gave to them in total 490$ for the 489$ total. As they were trying to unload the furniture, they very poorly handled all the materials that were loaded in the truck with stuff constantly falling from big heights right onto the floor and they barely bothered about anything. The way the truck was packed showed a total disregard for the safety of the workers. You could clearly hear things breaking as they shoved boxes from one place to other and their display of sheer disregard for other people's furniture was appalling. Things falling from heights of twenty feet from within the truck to the parking lot ground. Everything was very haphazardly packed and it took them a long time to retrieve our boxes as they had them completely mixed with other things. I realized our couch that it was broken on one side to the extent that it's not convertible into a bed anymore( it's designed to be one) and the back is too weak to support the weight of anyone sitting and leaning on it. There is damage to the upholstery given signs of being dragged and crushed. So essentially it's useless now. As they worked they continued to request a tip implying the rate at which they worked would be based on being given the tip upfront. Without which (tip) they refused to work fast and do things the proper way and constantly kept nagging for tip to work fasterDesired Settlement: We have also incurred a lot of damage to our furniture and parts of furnitures have been lost and broken. In reiteration, The wooden planks that support the mirror onto the vanity are missing and there is water damage to the vanity mirror and vanity itself- also the side panels of the vanity are damaged. The AC is damaged on the back also likely cause was crush from a fall.

My grievances are the professional door to door service was not met, and the damage of the following goods; mirror vanity, vanity chest, sofa, box damages( broken glass ware), and ac unit.

I wish to be refunded for the broken furniture and the delivery.

We have gone through the claim service international after filing with [redacted] and the sales rep. I am quite tired of being sent to complain from one person to another to another. I will follow up but this complaint has been filled arbitration should have been met by now.

Response:

Dear Sir, Our claims department, [redacted], HANDLES claims. We do not handle claims. It would not be a back and forth thing, you would deal with that department as the office handles sales, dispatch and inquiries. The only reason that [redacted] would have forwarded calls or told you to speak to a sales rep is so they can provide you with the claims department's phone number. [redacted] would not have that at hand since he is usually in meetings and outside the office. Regards,[redacted]
