My bank cashed a fraudulent check that was mailed into my bank and was part of a scam. The bank did not put a hold on the check for over 6000 dollars and they have made me pay over 3500 so far to cover the check and still want me pay them 2200 dollars more when it was their responsibility to make sure it was a good check before they cashed it. I've even talked to the vp at the bank and threatened to turn me over to collections if I don't pay the bank 2200 dollars more.
Ms. complained that we cashed a fraudulent check and she feels she should not have to reimburse the funds. Ms. is the person that received the cash from the check that was cashed. The Credit Union account is only negative because Ms. has the money. I think she is confusing us giving the money fraudulently to a third-party vs. her receiving the money herself. At this point she’s been unjustly enriched and that is why we discussed her returning the funds she received.
I understand this written response is after the Revdex.com timeframe, but we did talk to Ms. at the time of her original complaint, we just have a difference of opinion as to whom was negatively impacted.
My bank gave all the money in my savings account and my checking to my mother who was not on either account.
Ms *** claimed her mother was not on her account and we incorrectly gave her mother the money in the account. Her mother was on her account at the time of the transfer, therefore she was authorized to make the transfer or withdrawal. In fact the money had originally come from the same account that it eventually went back to. They both set up cross-account transfer access in September of 2019.
I understand this written response is after the Revdex.com timeframe, but we did talk to Ms. after the transfer of her original complaint and she seemed to understand.
