Thank you for contacting us regarding this matterFirst and foremost let me state that Mr [redacted] initially brought his vehicle in to only have the A/C Compressor replaced, going so far as to even provide his own compressorWe are attached to a parts department that also sells parts and recommended that while doing the compressor it is wise to replace the dessicant bag (Drier) located inside of the A/C Condenser as it serves as a filter to the systemAt this point let me state that other than the dessicant bag (Drier) which costs $no additional cost was added to the quote that was agreed uponMr [redacted] was informed prior to any work being performed that by providing his own compressor he would not be covered under our policy of one year warranty on parts and labor, which he agreed toThe replacement of the dessicant bag (Drier) is not a labor intensive repair (thus no added labor charge) as it would have to be removed to flush and clean out the A/C system regardlessThe complaint of the drier being replaced is erroneous as Mr [redacted] does not realize that the job of the drier is to absorb moisture in the system and if his compressor failed internally then yes the dessicant bag will absorb the oil and any possible substance the failing compressor emitsMr [redacted] contacted us about months after the repair was made (not the few days he notes in complaint) and informed us that he was having a problem with the air conditioning systemThe vehicle was never returned to Unique Auto Repair for further analysis due to Mr [redacted] looking to circumvent a policy that has been in place from the first day we opened our doors for businessWhile I empathize with Mr [redacted] the failure of a mechanical component after six months of working normally is not indicative of a repair done incorrectly
