Umpqua Bank

I went to Umpqua Bank to cash my work check. My work banks with Umpqua. I have cash many work checks, mostly at the bank that the checks have been issused from. I have never been charged a fee. This was the first time at umpqua. Not only was the teller rude, but after she had cash my check she tells me that because I don't have an account with Umpqua I will be charged a 6 dollars fee. I work minimum wage and 6 dollars is more than hour half an of work for me. I needed to put gas in my car get to work, so I took my money. I have now read through all of Umpqua policy's. Thier policy says that, you may be charge a fee for non account holders. So I call Umpqua and talk to a man named Gaberial. Even though there is no where online that explains how much or when they charge this fee. Gaberial, the Umpqua repersentive, explained that their is a 6 dollar fee for checks over 100 dollars. After waiting on hold twice at least ten minute each time. He said I would have know about the fee if I asked the teller or had called. Well I still have no answers to where my 6 dollars has gonna. If they had a problem with the check they could talk to the account holder, my work. They have ssc, i.d., finger print, and 6 dollars. All because my work does business with them. I don't blame my work, but blame Umpqua policy's. And their lack of clear policy's online. So I don't have to wait 20 minutes on hold or wait until I get to their Branch to discover a rediculousness fee. I believe Umpqua charges this fee to save on cost that I don't believe I should have to endure.
