We bought and moved into a home in rural Milton about 3 years ago. The previous owners were under contract with Bluewave for a rented oil-fired hot water heater - we assumed this contract in good faith and continued the payments. Our thinking at the time was that although the appliance was several years old, that the contract provided some peace of mind regarding repair and replacement should anything go wrong. About a year ago we received a statement from the company RAISING the price of the monthly rental payment and notifying us at the same time that the service/replacement portion of the agreement would no longer be honoured. Seriously!! SO an appliance that had generated revenue for the company for years and years, was no longer going to be their responsibility - can you imagine an insurance company employing this tactic? When the heater failed, we were told by Bluewave that there was no resolution available. We have "moved on" but this kind of treatment of customers should be illegal. ***.
