Charged over $500 in overdraft fees from 3 transactions, manipulated by the order in which they were processed.
I had 2 Paypal transactions and a check declined due to insufficient funds. The Paypal transactions should have cleared, however the bank chose to process the check first instead of going in the order received, charging me over $30 for each one. They repeated this process attempting to post charges on an already overdrawn account, until they had gotten around $500 in overdraft fees accrued and then closed my account and sent me a collections notice. I have repeatedly contacted the bank regarding this matter. Every time I called, the manager who was supposedly in charge of this was not available. When I asked for a callback, all I received was an email explaining the charges and a refusal to reverse them. They have placed a notice against me in Chex Systems, forcing Great Western Bank to close my other bank account as well, despite having a positive balance.
I want the overdraft fees reversed and my name removed from Chex Systems.
RE: Case # XXXXXXXX- Two Rivers Bank & Trust posts items in the following order; 1. Debit Card (POS)/ATM (based on time stamp) per regulatory requirements, 2. ACH, 3. checks are paid in sequential number order.
The items were presented in this order and not manipulated.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
By your own response, the transactions were processed in the wrong order. The Paypal transactions preceded the check by a week. You still have not responded as to your intent regarding settling this matter.
Two Rivers would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the issue and date of the transactions in question. We have attempted to reach you by phone and sent written correspondence to the address on file. Please contact the compliance department to discuss your complaint in detail.
