Very helpful. Over and above in service. God bless you!

Were very efficient. Showed up early and were very professional. I would not think of using anyone else. A very great moving experience. Highly recommend.

Personal seemed very knowledgeable in what the job consisted of. Did a very good of handling of my belongings. Thanks.

Two Men and a Truck gave me the most awesome guys to move me to Texas! Thank y’all so much. ***.

The 3 men were all very courteous, professional, and hard-working. They didn’t hesitate to move me during a rain storm and protected each and every piece of my furniture. They set everything up perfectly! I will definitely use Two Men and a Truck on my next move and will refer them to friends.

We have used Two Men and a Truck several times. They have always been wonderful. The move last week wa no exception. The crew arrived on time and ready to work. They actually made the process fun. They did a great job. All of them were respectful of our belongings and took great care of us. We will definitely use them again!!

A REVIEW: A Tale of Two (Two Men and a Truck)

While I may not be an expert on any given topic, I consider myself close to be an expert on moving. Since I left my parent’s home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and headed to college, I have physically moved more than three dozen times.

Some moves have been bigger than others. Eight were between Mississippi and Colorado; over a half dozen were between Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. Most have been within my home state of Mississippi, which I love and always attempt to put in a good light.

This story about moving is as stark as daylight and dark. Let me clarify: This story about two MOVING COMPANY FRANCHISES is as stark as daylight and dark.

Let’s agree on the front end that no move is a particularly wonderful experience. And, while there are many factors that contribute to a good or bad move, the only thing to be addressed in this review, would be the professional movers involved in this particular move that I have just endured.

In early March, I submitted information to the Ridgeland, Mississippi, Two Men and a Truck franchise, regarding a move I was going to make March 28-29, 2019. Included in their online form were questions about whether or not I wanted to have them bring boxes, pack, load, and unload. I said yes to all.

It was difficult to project how many boxes I might need, so I submitted, what I thought to be, the maximum number of boxes (30) per each room. I also included each furniture item in every room in my house and the number of beds. I requested mattress and box-spring covers, tape, paper, and anything else they offered that could make the move, and my life, a little less stressful.

In return, I received a follow-up phone call from a cheery fellow named ***, and an email, confirming the date and the estimate, which was in the neighborhood of $4100.00. That estimate included seventeen hours of labor for four men, two trucks, gas, materials, and driving from Ridgeland to Louisville to Ridgeland to Ocean Springs. They knew they would be putting most of my worldly goods into two storage spaces, which meant they wouldn’t have to place furniture or unwrap anything. A few things were to go into a rented room while I waited to get into a house.

In my naivete, I believed that a professional moving company would give me a professional estimate and send me professional movers.

The first day of move, March 28, 2019, was sunny and clear, so weather was not an issue. I had already packed most of my kitchen and glassware. While things were not as organized as I might have hoped, they were grouped in each room, i.e., bathroom, bedroom one, living room, etc. I did not believe it to be rocket science to four bright young men who are “professional” movers, to pack each room and label accordingly, then pack the truck.

I found out within the first hour that we had issues when ***, the lead mover, informed me they’d only brought fifteen boxes to move a 2,000 square foot house.

(Did I hear someone say, “Houston we have a problem?”)

Thankfully, I have great friends who had brought me boxes prior to that day so that I wouldn’t have to buy so many. I also had a few left over from my last move using Two Men and a Truck out of Tuscaloosa.

(This move makes number seven using a Two Men and a Truck franchise.)

I took individual requests hamburgers and spent $75.00 at Carnell’s Restaurant (my favorite burger & wing place in Louisville) to feed all four of those men lunch.

Later in the afternoon, ***, who reportedly receives the highest number of five stars in the state per reviews, cursed God’s name because I asked him to take something off of the truck, I had specifically asked him not to pack. It was the floor plans to the custom-built home I was leaving. He said, “I don’t know what architectural plans look like.”

I was pretty much over trying to be nice when I broke out into tears for the second or third time, totally convinced I was just emotional over moving. That is, until I looked in the door of the second truck.

It looked like a bomb exploded (pictures can be produced should anyone be interested). They were finished packing and my “stuff” was thrown into two trucks, since they didn’t bring enough boxes. (I suppose they never thought to go to Walmart?).

As I drove out of my driveway in Louisville headed for the Coast, I was on the phone with ***, manager of the Two Men and a Truck franchise in Ridgeland. He defended the way they packed; he had nothing to say about not having enough boxes, and he defended *** about cursing God, saying, “He’s my best men. He wouldn’t do that.”

When did the paying customer cease to be right?

The next morning, they arrived in Gautier to unload my things into two storage spaces. I sat outside of the trucks and told them in which storage space things needed to go. Unfortunately, I did not tell them how to pack the boxes and keep my furniture safe, nor how to pack the storage spaces. It might have taken me the rest of my life, but I could have done a better job myself.

We finished unloading and I go to sign the paperwork, at which point *** informs me I’ve gone over on time to the tune of 23 hours and $2,000.00, which equates to a total of $6200.00. What was I going to do? Argue standing in the street? No. I was too tired to fight.

I also wanted to tip them $100 each and wanted to include it on the credit card. They didn’t like that because it would be taxed, and they wouldn’t get it on their paychecks until the next week. I tipped them anyway.
Less than two weeks later, on April 9, 2019, I was ready to move into a house in Ocean Springs, at which point I hired the Gulfport, Mississippi, franchise of Two Men and a Truck, with different ownership. Let’s just say that *** and *** run their business using highly-trained, honorable men and women, in conjunction with an honest and accurate assessment of labor and materials.

***, ***, and ***, opened the first rented space at *** Self Storage on Gautier Vancleave Road in Gautier (which I HIGHLY recommend should you find yourself in need of storage). As soon as those three men took one look at the largest box in the center of the 10’x20’ space, stacked with framed artwork so high and so heavy it took all three of them to move the box, ***, the lead mover said, “I need you to sign a release of liability.

There noted there was no paper between dozens of frames stacked one on top of the other. Of course each frame had glass. And on the top and down the sides canvas’ were crammed and sandwiched in between. All damaged. If you’ve ever framed anything, you are well aware that a box such as I have described would have cost thousands of dollars to replace, and that doesn’t count the cost of the artwork itself.

I knew this blatant disregard for worldly possessions was just the tip of the ice-burg.

I immediately called the Ridgeland office of Two Men and a Truck, told them I had three witnesses and that the conversation was being recorded.

I asked if they were going to ensure me that if things were broken, they would be responsible to repair them all. They informed me I only had 96 hours after the move to report damage. Really? Everything was in storage for less than two weeks but you, as a franchise representing a corporation, will not make good on a guarantee of repairing broken items. I then said the following, “Let me clarify: I have passed the 96-hour window and you are not going to repair anything that is broken? Should you hold to that policy, I will share this story on each and every social media page I have which included over 10,000 people and ask them to like and share this nightmare-of-a-move. I will summarily attempt to ruin your business so that NO ONE ELSE EVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT YOU HAVE PUT ME THROUGH.” They said I was making threats. I just said, “No sir. I’m simply telling you what I’m going to do should you not do the right thing.”

They simply didn’t care. After all, they have a 96-hour policy.

***, ***, and *** did as good as job as they could have with what they had to work with. They loaded each storage space in two separate trips and unloaded into my home in Ocean Springs. It took ten hours and they charged me $2100.00. On top of that, I tipped them well. They were as humble and grateful for what I offered as the four men from Ridgeland had been entitled to tips, they didn’t deserve.

I give the Two Men and a Truck franchise out of Gulfport five stars across the board.

No attempt has been made by the Two Men and a Truck of Ridgeland, Mississippi, even though I reported this story to the corporate office via telephone on Thursday, April 11, 2019. I was informed during that phone call that the corporate office of Two Men and a Truck cannot force any franchise to do the right thing by the customer. I give the Two Men and a Truck franchise out of Ridgeland, Mississippi, 1 star across the board.

So, I have thousands of dollars of damage to dozens of pieces of framed artwork, crushed lamp shades, unusable broken lamps, two shattered drawers on a glass-fronted dresser and lingerie chest in my bedroom, a rocking chair with the rocker broken off in the back, and over fifty boxes with labels like, “Misc. bathroom ***” which have been crammed full of, well… who knows what? I’m not finished unpacked so I have no idea what else I will discover.

It will take me a year to dig out of this mess.

I requested the following to not write and publish the above review: $2000.00 credit on the credit card, all damaged items fixed or replaced, and a days-pay for two men from the Gulfport franchise to help me unpack. I believe that to have been a fair offer to settle the matter.

The Ridgeland franchise of Two Men and a Truck has sent me three emails requesting a review. Until now, I did nothing, trying to avoid being negative. However, there are times to be negative.

The time is now. Should you find yourself in need of a moving company in the area of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, it would be worth your time and money to call the Gulfport franchise of Two Men and a Truck. My strong suggestion? NEVER call Two Men and a Truck out of Ridgeland and tell your friends and family to do the same.

I apologize for the length of this review, but if I am going to say negative about anything or anybody, I am going to tell the whole story. I hope this helps another consumer’s move go more smoothly had I not taken the time to write this review.

Two Men and A Truck Response • Apr 18, 2019

(GM), *** (Franchisee), and myself talked via phone call with Ms. this morning and agreed on an action plan going forward. We will maintain contact with her throughout action plan. I have relayed this same response to our Corporate Office.

Thanks,

This the third time I have used Two Men and Truck and each time they have more than lived up to expectation. From scheduling to moving my furniture they were professional and careful with everything. Each time the lead has seemed experienced and all were enthusiastic. I would highly recommend them.

The crew that assisted in moving some of our heavy furniture were very professional in their approach to protecting our furniture and then moving it out of our home to a local storage facility. 5 stars to the moving crew.
4 stars given to the cost of moving our furniture. Price was slightly on the high side but all our furniture was moved with great precision and care. Gave 2 Men and a Truck a 5 star overall score.

I used Two Men and a Truck to move my heaviest furniture from Starkville to Raymond. The process was trouble free from start to finish. Office staff were courteous and knowledgeable. Movers were punctual, efficient and professional. Follow up contact suggests that the company cares about the quality of the customer’s moving experience. It was a pleasure to work with all personnel involved, and I would recommend them to others.

Wonderful experience using Two Men and a Truck for our office move! We scheduled/booked "three" men and a truck because of our large desks and armoires. The booking was easy! Move day went as scheduled and within our time and money budget! That was THE EASIEST AND SMOOTHEST move I've ever experienced!

I needed four men and two trucks for my recent move, but the guys were so nice, helpful, and professional. Who knew that it was going to be the hottest day so far in Mississippi! The guys simply pushed on, along with myself and my sister, and had me moved completely in about 7 hours. This is the second time that I have used this moving company and will continue to send business their way.

Be careful!! They go over estimate and do NOT provide revised before job complete even though their paperwork says they must. It took 3 hours for two men to move 6 pieces of furniture. They took mirror of dresser and bed apart (moved mattress box springs and footboard) and an entertainment center top off ( made it two pieces). They moved it about 6-7 miles to different house and didn’t reassemble what was taken apart except for entertainment center (that was at my request). It took 3 hours!!!! Cost $385, 6 pieces of furniture, one bedroom. I would not not recommend moving an entire house full. The workers were very slow. When complained to company, ***, blew me off and asked if I told them to hurry. I don’t feel like that is my responsibility if they are a trustworthy place of business!!!

This company is probably the worst I've ever encountered. They are very unprofessional, careless and unconcerned about they're clients property. I had them to move furniture from a storage unit to a house and they destroyed the house and most of my furniture . One bed broken (into pieces) the chest has the back part torn completely off and the dresser is scratched and scared badly .The second bedroom set has been badly scratched and pieces missing, it was fairly new I'm not even finished paying for it yet .Refrigerator, washer and dryer dented, scratched up,and paint pulled off .I had a lot of gym equipment knobs missing from most of it, $1500 treadmill was in excellent condition that would just roll on it's wheels its scarred and the cord torn in half they srcatched the doors to the entrance of the house busted, holes in the walls ,drugged the future on the hard wood floors, lamps, pictures, sectional couch, recliner all broken. It started out being they were going to fix and or replace everything to they didn't do it .After 4 months seeing how full of lies they were, I took them to court and got a judgement they have not paid and that's does not amount to even half of the damage they caused plus I paid them $150 per hour to text on their phones and pulling their pants up all while on the clock pretty much the whole time and I have pictures of it and I even sent and showed them. Any decent company would have taken care of the problem or at least honored the judgment. They are not going to completely get away with this im getting all of the pictures ,emails to and from them, court documents and place them on social media and I am going to call the IRS with their Tax ID # and get them involved in this situation and the reason why some companies won't take personal checks is to keep you from being able to get their banking information so that if you need to garnish their account(s) it will be hard to find so you can get frustrated and give up but hard to find is just hard to find but not impossible and I will find out everything I need to know and I will be starting a website to help others who has been taken advantage of by Two Men And A Truck and others like them

I was charged $200 for services that I never received. I called this company to receive a quote on moving services and gave a tentative moving date about 2 months ago. This moving company emailed me a quote and that was the end of it until today when I saw a receipt for a charge to my account for services that I never received. I called the company to try and resolve the issue and the representative was very nonchalant and stated that it is in their contract. I never signed a contract. $200 may not be much to some, but as a single mother with a toddler in preschool, it's a lot to me. The fact that this $200 is being forced on my account and I never received any services is unfair and unjust. The domino effect of being charged this amount unexpectedly or otherwise for services that I never received is a rip off and not fair.

Two Men and A Truck Response

We have a cancellation policy, which is stated in our Pre-move letter, as well as our Moving Services Agreement, which is emailed to each customer that books a move with us. Below you will find our cancellation policy and how it reads.
Cancellations: We require 48 hours (prior to your move date) advanced notice for a move cancellation. If you choose to cancel your move entirely within the 48 hours, a two hour minimum charge will apply to the valid credit card on file. If you choose to reschedule your move within the 48 hours, a two hour minimum charge will apply to the valid card on file. That charge will be deducted from your final move cost.

In order to book your move we do require a debit/credit card to be placed on file, which the customer provided for us, thus we were able to charge the cancellation fee.

Customer Response

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: I called this company for a "QUOTE" and gave them a "TENTATIVE" moving date in order to comply with the requirements for receiving a QUOTE. I NEVER BOOKED THE SERVICE AND NEVER SIGNED THE "MOVING SERVICES AGREEMENT" (which was emailed to me along with the quote that I received from this company) which if I had, would have confirmed my moving date and bound me to any stipulations of such contract. Attached please find a copy of the quote and the "moving services agreement" that was emailed to me which was never signed. Had it been signed and returned, I would have been solidifying or confirming my need for the service on the date given on the quote.

Regards

Two Men and A Truck Response

In order to book a move with us we require a debit/credit card to be held on file, which you provided to us. The Moving Services Agreement is emailed over to you for your records and then a copy is brought out to you the day of the move. We do not require you to sign and send back to us prior to your move date. Confirming you are on the schedule is giving a card over the phone to us. The MSA and Pre-move letter both state our cancellation policy. Receiving the Pre-Move letter, that is stating you are booked and confirmed on our schedule, thus giving you ways too prepare for move day and what to expect.

Customer Response

I am rejecting this response because: My understanding was that I was receiving a quote!!! Not booking a service. I hadn't even been approved to move into my new living community yet. It was all tentative. You guys are participating in "predatory practices". If this is how you obtain success in your business, it will be short lived and in the end, it won't be worth it. Being charged $200 for the stipulations of a contract that I never signed, for services that I never received, can only be viewed in one way - A RIP OFF. It's not right whether you state that it's in your contract or not. The success of a business is based off of the care that it places on its clients, not off of how many people it can "stiff". No matter how you look at it, YOU ARE TRYING TO RIP ME OF! And in the end, $200 will never be worth the happiness and commitment of a satisfied customer. Word of mouth is the best way to start, establish, maintain and dissolve a business. Don't underestimate the reach of a satisfied or dissatisfied potential customer. Your slogan is: "Two men and a truck: movers who care"? Care about what? Surely not the consumer. REMEMBER: PEOPLE DON'T CARE HOW MUCH YOU KNOW, UNTIL THEY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CARE!!! In my calling to try and rectify this situation, you didn't even exercise empathy or try to gain an understanding of what may have gone wrong or where the break down in communication may have occurred. The Golden Rule is always a good thing to keep in mind when dealing with the public: TREAT OTHER PEOPLE THE WAY YOU WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED!!! Not assuming that everyone is trying to "get over". What would I have to gain by not calling in 48 hours time to cancel a service that I never even booked, or realized that I booked. Something like this could've easily been rectified or worked out in some other way causing a win-win situation for all parties involved. This can never be considered lawful, even if it is legal.

Regards

Trying to make my move easy, I hired Two Men and a Truck. It has been one of the worst experiences of my life. You can stop reading here and just don't ever hire them. Never. They say one thing and do another. Don't return phone calls. I got a quote of $3,200 and they were to do "partial packing". I had friends come help before they came and we had the house 90% packed. I was to have 4-6 men and 2 trucks the day of the move. I had 2 men and 1 truck. They complained and hurried trying to load my stuff. No they do not have TV boxes. Nor did they wrap mine in blankets. Around 5:30PM 2 other men showed up with another truck. Everything didn't fit so they said "Leave it on your back porch and someone is coming tomorrow to load it and bring it to your new house." "Tomorrow it will be at my house?" I asked? YES. Next day the rest of the furniture/boxes didn't show, I called and the guy argues with me and says we'll bring it the next time we come that way (next state away). No. Absolutely not. I had to get a trailer and a friend to go back over there and get the stuff so it wasn't sitting outside. They dropped a headboard and broke it and took it back to "fix it" and now I have a king size bedroom suite with no bed. Two weeks of them not calling me, me having to call them - they say they will only pay me $200 for the headboard. This is an Ashley Millennium set. I didn't even argue. They had been so rude and obnoxious to me before I knew there was no reason to argue. They marked up my walls in the house, I didn't complain. The boxes they packed were not marked at all, I didn't complain. The guy from TM told me "the workers told us it was almost a 100 percent packing job". Outright lie. My friends who had spent a weekend packing with me were not happy to hear any of this either. I could go on and on but as I said, just use someone else. These people are a joke.

I scheduled Two Men and a Truck to move BC a daughter our of her apartment at *** in Oxford, MS on Julu 31, 2017 at 2,pm. The movers were late. I was called by the driver at 2:45 asking for the address. I told him the name of the apartments and location. I did not have my daughter's address she had stepped out. I was asked to text the address to him. I did at 3:02pm. At 3:15 the movers arrived and gave us papers to sign. Also we were tsken aback because movers wasn't two mens. It was s man and a half. . The half was small and appeared to us to be a boy. However I asked sfter signing papers, when does the clock start? The half man said it began ay 2:45pm. I questioned this because I was never advised they would chatge me for thirty mins when they hadn't touched a box. I was told we would be charged $125 per hour. The half man attempt he claimed to call his supervisor of which he said he didn't get an answer. So I call the number I booked with 662-***. I began to question the young lafy about these charges, the half mover claimedhe arrived at 3:00pm. Remind you I didn't text the address until 3:02pm.. Immediately after I got off the phone questioning charges beginning at 2:45pm.The half mover said he wasn't moving us and quit the job. At this time he was angry and snached the dolly and slung it around, one the top container stacked on top fell off with my daughter's makeup inside. They immediately went down stairs and began taking my daughter's things out of the truck that the man had put in. I called the number I haf back. She talked to him on my phone. He was talking to his supervisor with his phone. Everythough I had expressed my daughter had to beoved out at 5pm to the lafy and explain jis attitude and how hespilled my daughter's products to the floor he left. The supervisor never asked to speak to me and no one from Two Men and a Truck has contacted mr since. I feel this was very unprofessional. If I haf cancelled on them within 48 hours I would have been charged. But the half man wss allowed to walk out on us and not do the job we haf scheduled two weeks in advance. They never asked if he damaged anything either

Two Men and A Truck Response

Below is what we have written in our contact log for the customer. We did not charge her anything and canceled her move in our system.

This is from *** our Sales Manager in the North, MS office....

We have made the decision of refusal to service Ms. *** for the following:

She called multiple times wondering where the guys were. Her window of arrival was between 2:00 and 4:00 PM. The crew contacted her and left their 3rd move of the day at 2:45 PM. She texted them and they did not arrive until 3:10 PM. She stated that they lied on the paperwork and tried to begin the time at 2:45 PM. She stated that she never knew about being billed for the drive time but that even if that were the case that they were over charging her. She also stated that *** was knocking things off of counters and getting an attitude with her. She was also communicating and stating this in front of him and having a side conversation in argument with him during she and I’s call.

Both *** and *** called in to *** letting him know that she was getting an attitude with them about the time difference and making comments about when they arrived and actually began working for her. *** also stated that the location of the move was unsanitary and that there was a lot of debris and trash. He said *** did not knock anything over and that a dolly fell over and some boxes fell off but they picked everything up and put it back as it was before leaving.

*** stated that while he was on the phone the customer was being very negative and rude towards them as well.

I might would have suggested that they complete the move but neither *** nor *** felt that the customer would have been satisfied with anything that we did beyond this point.
