I am renting a basement apartment in ***. The water pump went after normal use and they came out and said it needed to be replaced. On 2/4/2019. The invoice stated the warranty was voided due to grease use. I am a single 42 year old woman, I would never put grease down any drain. They charged my landlord $1,200 to replace it, but it wasn't replaced at that time. They did repair it but somehow upon closing it back up they left a rag inside the pump. 10 days later the pump went and I have a picture of the rag being removed from the pump. I would never flush a rag down the toilet and if someone had it wouldn't have cleared the trap. The rag was on top of the pump prior to them servicing it and gone after. They charged another $1,200 to replace the pump, 10 days later, saying the warranty was voided because I flushed feminine products and baby wipes and that broke the pump. I am not responsible. My landlord expects me to reimburse her for the 2nd pump so I asked to see both invoices and to see the water pump that they removed so I could compare the serial number to those on the invoices as I know it wasn't actually removed the first time. After a week of asking for it I received the invoices with out serial numbers. I am sad that my landlord was scammed.
