trussells left part of the old wheel bearing in the axle/differential housing
they over charged me on parts
they didn't properly diagnose the issue
I took my truck to Trussells because a loud noise was coming from the rear of my truck. *** said, "It would be around $600, a rough estimate because the bearings were bad, and the brakes and rotors needed to be replaced, A couple weeks later when I had a break in work, I dropped the truck off. *** called me the next day telling my wheel bearings was causing the issues (loud noise) and stated the price to fix my truck had doubled to over $1,200 I asked *** how much for just replacing the wheel bearings. *** quoted for $675.41 to just do both wheel bearing and seals only. I told him to just do the wheel bearings and seals
When I picked up my truck, I let my father drive it . When I drove the truck the next day, I still heard the noise coming from the rear of my truck. Wanting a second opinion, I took my truck to Gates when I had time. They verified that the noise was coming from the rear differential. They gave me an estimate to fix the rear differential pinion bearings and side bearings. Gates told me that the rear differential bearings have been bad for a long time.
I took my truck back to Trussells and *** the owner looked at my truck and told me he didn't know how they missed that and stated he would charge me an additional 450 to fix the problem. I asked *** if he could work with me on the price because if he had properly diagnosed my truck, I would never of had the work done. I would have just gotten a rear end and replaced it. *** said he would see what he could do, and called me later quoting a price of 430, stating the parts alone where 240. I told him I knew better than that because I had already gotten prices on the parts I needed and they where 131. After arguing with him, *** agrees to fix the mistake he made with my truck for 300.
After talking to *** and knowing he was trying to over-charge me more than100 for parts, I checked on the price of the parts Trussells originally put in my truck. I discovered he over-charged me for the parts he already put on my truck.
I decided I really didn't trust them and took my truck somewhere else. When I got the pinion and other bearing fixed, they found part of the original wheel bearing that Trussells replaced left in the axle/differential housing. I know Trussells left in the old wheel bearings is because the wheel bearing Trussells replaced the part is specific there is only axle bearings on the truck, there are no other identical bearing in the axle housing/rear end
I called Trussells and told *** that I took the truck and had it fixed somewhere else, and they had to take apart all the work his shop did, and his shop left part of the old wheel bearing in the axle differential housing of the truck. I asked him to refund just the labor I had paid his shop since the work he did had to be redone, and his shop didn't properly diagnose the issues with my truck. *** told me that his shop didn't leave any wheel bearing in the axles of the truck even though I have the parts that Trussells did not remove, and that we had a deal to let his shop fix my truck. The left in part could have only come from Trussells not removing all of the bearing, because that type of bearing only fits the axle bearing and is different from the other bearings. . He stated his shop didn't do anything wrong even-though when he thought I was going to spend more money having his shop fix my truck, he admitted to me that they made a mistake. *** told me that the noise wasn't even that loud when I brought my truck to his shop. When I took it to Trussells it had 102,426 miles on the truck and when I took the truck to Gates it had 103,613.
I argued with *** for a while then he offered me $190 of the $675.41 and if I wanted more to take him to court. *** even went far-enough to tell me that if I made a mistake on a job, I would still expect to get paid, and when I told him I would not and would fix my mistake for free. *** told me, "Oh come on ***."
675.41 what I paid Trussell's -100.00 the real price the bearing and seals (was able the re-use them) +50.78 asking for what I paid gate to properly diagnose the problem $626.19 Refunded back to me is what I think would be a fair settlement

Re: case ***
It would be nice if all Calls and Conversation we recorded so we new what was said & when.but I don't have that option. I'm not going to get into a war of words as That hasn't solved anything up to this point the vehicle had a bad R.R wheel bearing on axle bearing our mistake was not to go farther in to the rear end or ask for permission to go farther. The other mistake was To not test drive: T when we were done to make sure we had repaired it.
The axle bearing we very difficult o remove on the truck,They came out mush harder then normal and broke up in pieces so I can believe That one of the rollers got down an axle tube. But there is a Magnet in the Differential to collect metal shaving like this .Thi sdid not cause any problems it just got missed I'm Quite sure the axle Brgs got roused when the second repair was done.
So it is my Feeling that I should refund the labor that was charged for replacement of the axle bearing & shop supplies which is $334.61 if this is ok and will settle this I will send a check to ***. because you can go buy the parts cheaper elsewhere does not mean that you were over charged i'm sure the parts that Gates put in can be bought cheaper also. if you buy a shirt A J.C. Pennys and then see it a Walmart cheaper it doesn't mean that you got ripped offed some places charge more per hour & sell parts for less But we have to Make Money To Stay in Business
Sincerely
*** Trussell

Revdex.com,
I am still asking for $626.19
For starters when I took my truck to Trussell's I asked them to diagnose the problem (noise in the rear end of my truck). Larry the owner looked at my truck and said the wheel bearings were bad and the brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. He would need me to be able to drop the truck off with them for a day to crack open the rear end to be sure, since I couldn't leave the truck with them that day. So, Trussell's had not one time but two times to properly diagnose my truck. I never asked Trussell's to just check the wheel bearing because I had no clue where the noise was coming from. Now as far as the wheel bearings and rear wheel seal they were reused which I stated in the complaint original submitted. That is why I am not asking for the full amount of $675.41. I am deducting $100.00 for wheel bearings and the seal.
I am still asking for the $50.78 I had to pay Gates Chevrolet to properly diagnose the problem I had with my truck due to the fact Trussell's didn't take the time to properly diagnose my truck. Now come to find out from the letter Trussell's submitted to Revdex.com, they didn't even test drive my truck, but when I paid the receptionist, she told me the truck was running great now.
I am asking for all the labor costs because not only did the labor on the wheel bearing and wheel seals had to be redone, but the labor for removing and putting the brake pads and rotors had to be redone as well. Plus, the gear oil and axle housing cover gasket had to be replaced as well. I understand they need to make money to stay in business but isn't that why Trussell's is charging $81.91 an hour, and I understand making some money for the parts they use. But for Trussell's to charge double for the parts is a bit much. I am still asking for the amount I was over charged on the parts. Point blank Trussell's did a crappy job on repairing and poorly diagnosing the issues I was having with my truck. I use my truck for work, so I had to take additional time off to have the truck fixed properly. Trussell's have admitted they messed up and are still trying to rip me off by not wanting to refund me my full labor and the markup they charged me on the parts, plus the parts and supplies I had to repay for. Because of their poor customer service and lack of responsibility for their error I have had to file a complaint with you (Revdex.com) and the Michigan Department of State for Trussell's to even consider taking my complaint with the work they did serious. I feel that I am being more than fair on what I am asking for. I don't understand how a company can justify making one dime off of someone when they made a mistake on the work they did.
I have filed a complaint with the Michigan Department of State. If the Revdex.com needs any additional information for their investigation, the case id is *-***-***-***. I am summitting a copy of the response Trussell's submitted to the Revdex.com to the Michigan Department of State, so they have it for their records as well.
