[redacted] In reference to the complaint # [redacted] , filed on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, the following is the rebuttal: 1] [redacted] never... spoke to Ms. [redacted] until that very day and that was only to ask her a question in reference to her landlord since she did not know that [redacted] was not paying for her rent...she became defensive when asked about [redacted] . [There was a misunderstanding between her and [redacted] , which will be explained in the next paragraph.] [redacted] then explained to Ms. [redacted] in a very polite and professional manner that there was a question about a collection from [redacted] and asked her what it was for......Ms. [redacted] told her that it was for rent and that she did not live there [found out later that she co-signed for her daughter]....when [redacted] explained to her that when a prospective tenant owes money to a landlord that we cannot rent to them......Ms. [redacted] became extremely irate calling [redacted] a thief, liar, a very dishonest person. [redacted] explained to Ms. [redacted] that she could not refund the money because the credit report had already ran. [redacted] tried to talk but could not and quietly hung up. This in the only time [redacted] ever spoke to her. 2] Ms. [redacted] called back and asked for [redacted] . She then spoke to [redacted] and [redacted] apologized about the misunderstanding with [redacted] and proceed to explain to her that we do not rent to anyone who owes previous landlords any monies. Ms. [redacted] then proceed to berate [redacted] in the same fashion as she spoke to ***. [redacted] then told Ms. [redacted] that we could not help her and to go elsewhere. PS One of the most important factors in this whole conversation and review of documents is a question that is asked of all perspective tenants: Do you owe any unpaid rent or late fees? Ms. [redacted] answered no........If she would have answered truthfully we would have never ran her application and we would of happily refunded her application fee of $35.00
